Welcome to Week 2 of Coaster of the Day. Here were this week’s roller coasters.
Day 8, Titan. At a height of 245 feet and a top speed of 85 miles per hour, this is the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the big state of Texas. The only thing on this ride that can be more impressive than its size are the g-forces provided. Titan features two absurdly intense helixes that will turn your bones to jelly and make your eyesight go gray. This ride is located at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas.
Day 9, The New Revolution. Originally opening as the Great American Revolution in 1976, this was one of the first modern takes on the vertical loop. Not only does it have the famous loop found in films like Rollercoaster and National Lampoon’s Vacation, but this coaster has a long layout filled with many classic drops, hops, turns and a tunnel. This ride is located at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California.
Day 10, Colossus. Between 2002 and 2013, this roller coaster held the world record for the most inversions on any coaster with 10. These inversions are a vertical loop, a cobra roll double inversion, two corkscrews, and 5, count them, 5 heartline rolls. They really crammed in as much as possible into a near 2800 foot layout. This ride is located at Thorpe Park in Chertsey and Staines, England.
Day 11, Superman Ultimate Flight. This multi-launching coaster was the original “Sky Rocket II” built by American manufacturer Premier Rides. It features 3 launches with the final launch reaching a top speed of 62 miles per hour, a heartline roll which inverts riders 150 feet in the air, and a whole lot of strong pops of airtime in between. This ride is located at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California.
Day 12, Eejanaika. Translating to “Ain’t it great”, this extreme roller coaster absolutely flips, twists, and loops riders all over the place. Every rider that is put through this attraction will become a ragdoll throughout this ride’s almost 3800 feet of twisted, demented track. This ride is located at Fuji-Q Highland in Fujiyoshida, Japan.
Day 13, Wicker Man. Although it doesn’t have the greatest stats, this wooden coaster is primarily carried by its thematic nature. The fog, fire and forbidding structures make this one of the most visually pleasing wooden roller coasters on the planet. This ride is located at Alton Towers in Alton, Staffordshire, England.
Day 14, Untamed. This ride currently holds the record for the most inversions on a hybrid coaster with 5. Not just that, there are 14 other out of your seat airtime moments which make the best out of this over 3500 foot layout. This ride is located at Walibi Holland in Biddinghuizen, Netherlands.
