Yeah like Canadian National 3254, in fact that whistle signal (Two long, a short, and one long again) means that a train is about to go through a railroad crossing.

I’m happy there’s still old steamers in theme parks, I’m even more happy that coal steamers are still on use. And I’m even more happy you put Cinderella and Klondike Katie at number 1!

Very nice video, with great descriptions! Good to see so many diverse engines! Very clever that some of them have converted to “modern fuels”. In the Netherlands I can recommend “De Efteling” theme park operating 600 mm steam locomotives on 2,3 km of round track (coal fired btw) (the railroad called Efteling Stoomtrein Maatschappij)

Great topic of all these theme park railroads in the United States. My favorite out of all the theme park railroads is the Disneyland Railroad, located in the Disneyland theme park of Anaheim, California. They have five operational steam locomotives. Disneyland Railroad #1 “C.K. Holliday” (Built By Walt Disney Studios in 1954). Disneyland Railroad #2 “E.P. Ripley” (Built by Walt Disney Studios in 1954). Disneyland Railroad #3 “Fred Gurley” (Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1894, originally built as a Forney engine). Disneyland Railroad #4 “Ernest S. Marsh” (Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1925, originally built as a 0-4-0ST). Disneyland Railroad #5 “Ward Kimball” (Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1902, originally built as a Forney engine).

all the locomotives at Cedar Point were at one time actually working in coal mines. they're all around 100 years old. The Judy K is named after Judy Kinzel, wife of former Cedar Point CEO Dick Kinzel

Nice video. I like the route maps with station stops and statistics. I agree 100% with the 3 criteria you used but would add a fourth - the railroad’s usefulness for transportation. Busch Gardens Williamsburg is my favorite park railroad.
@Coaster1013 жыл бұрын
Thanks! That's a good point as each train can also be classified as purely scenic (Dollywood) or transportation (Disney's). What makes BGW your personal favorite?

I've taken the train at Silverwood a few different times and it's a lot of fun. The engine has a neat story too. Silverwood's founder outbid Disney when he purchased the loco.

I was honestly caught off guard to see my footage of the Whiskey River Railroad on here lol, would love to get to some of these other parks in the near future. I’ve also been to Knott’s Berry Farm but they weren’t running steam when I went

Sorry, we should have asked to use your footage, hope you don't mind us using a short clip of your great footage! That's a bummer about Knott's. Hopefully you can make it back there soon!

Fun fact, tweetsie railroad helped Dollywood get their engines and ready for service since Tweetsie 190 is from the white pass railroad which is the same one Dollywood bought 70 and 192

Tweetsie Railroad should be no. 1 without a doubt. It having two coal fired engines should put it in the top two alone. They do much more with their trains than Dollywood.
@Steamfan12 жыл бұрын
Why that disrespect towards the Walt Disney World Railroad? That should at least be top 3 if not number 1.
@Coaster1012 жыл бұрын
If you read the article linked in the description you can see our reasoning. Why do you think WDWRR should be number 1?
