When I think of amazing theme park music, I think of my home park Efteling. Great music often made in house. Ranging from annoying themes like Carnival Festival to really cinematic and great music like Villa Volta. Background or foreground. Hearing is one of the five senses that will be stimulated when you visit the park.

Alton Towers has some epic music. Their coasters in general are really well-themed, and for me themeing is what turns a good coaster onto a great one. The music for Hex, Duel, Nemesis and Oblivion are particular highlights for me.

Nice video :) I do wish IMAscore would take more "risks" with their audio, add a bit of complexity. Musically, their tracks are pretty safe and simple, they use very basic western chords and stuff. I think this is the cause of why some people think IMAscore music sounds the same though - because it is so "safe". That said, their music is also always a crowd-pleaser and they do make very good music :)
@coasterbot3 жыл бұрын
It's an interesting point but I'm not sure if IMAscore get to choose if they take risks or not. They'll work to the brief given to them by clients. If their clients ask for the same kind of thing constantly, that's what they'll deliver. IMA can definitely make unique music if given the chance to :)

Great video! 👍 Sound design never gets the recognition it deserves as being fundamental to the human experience. Music = emotion. I particularly love works like the Smiler theme because they are a masterful balancing act... it's incredibly difficult to create music that's _unsettling_ but not disturbing or annoying, because you still want people to enjoy the ride experience at the end of the day! Give me a twisted circus tune or a warped children's rhyme any day over a saccharine-sweet Disney theme! 👌😎 (and 'It's a Small World' is one of the worst earworms out there... I'm going to be singing it for days now, cheers for that! LOL)

Before watching the video i can say that it is almost definitely cheaper to hire a composer (who does sound design for movies for example) only known to that insular music world (everyone knows the star wars theme, but how many people have heard of John williams?) as opposed to already famous songs.

This video pretty much answered the question about how theme park music is made in theme parks like Lotte world, South Korea. No one ever reviewed about the attraction's background music, which is a important factor of the ride. (I could not forget the background music of the Intamin rollercoaster "Atlantis Adventure".)

Hey Coaster Bot, i hope when the whole pandamic is over you'll be able to make a visit to Efteling, if you're ever planning to visit and would like a guided tour through the park i'd be so happy to accompany you and your party and share some of the facts known to the Dutch but unknown to the world. TBH i really like watching your videos and get that you need to upload regularly and i get that it is hard in at the moment but this video is like "i like cornflakes, here is how corn is made" sorry

The Efteling is on my bucket list of parks to get to very soon! Thanks for the offer that's very kind. I'm glad you like watching our videos regularly, I appreciate it. I'm not 100% by what you mean. Not a lot of people talk about theme park soundtracks, and even less discuss how they are actually made. I thought I'd be interesting to shed some light on this :)
@fab1991053 жыл бұрын
@@coasterbot Luckily there's talks about more things opening up here too, so i hope you guys are able to get a visit in soon. :') Reading it back that didn't translate as well as i thought it would, haha. I meant that the video went into what theme park music is and how it's made, which was also interesting. But i kinda hoped that you'd go more in depth with rides and their own music or the differences between parks and how their music is made. how the systems work etc. But hey, who knows, maybe a part 2. :')
