As a hunger games fan (of the books especially) I find it very odd and very much missing the original point of the story, but also kind of fitting that there’s a theme park section based off Panem. Like making a theme park/section sounds EXACTLY like something the Capitol would do 🤣

@drdewott9154Ай бұрын
Yeah. Plus trying to have 3 theme parks at once and have attractions spread across them, rather than 1 strong theme park is definitely not good either. Especially given the high entry prices. Like I can kinda understand having Legoland be separate, but there really is no reason to have a separate Real Madrid/Bollywood park. Especially since it has the largest coaster on property and not much else. Like that wooden coaster really should've been erected on the other side of the street in Motiongate from the get-go.
@GobloniumАй бұрын
There is more than enough people to go around, look at Yas Island or Global Village. These parks are out in the hot desert and outrageously priced.

I went this summer and loved this place. Many world class attractions and lots of great theming. Decent collection of coasters but I agree they do need that one standout. I hear rumours that the cancelled mack hyper coaster will be going to Motiongate, and I also saw track lying outside the park when I was there, so maybe it'll get built? Overall a very good park.
@joao.spegiorinАй бұрын
From what I've seen from the UAE parks, it really looks like most of those parks don't have any kind of uniqueness or any kind of locality, in a way that most of them aren't meant for the local public nor to showcase the uniqueness of the region, it seems that most of the attractions and cities design are meant to favour US/GB tourists than the people living there - I think the main exception is Global Village. There, you provide to different audiences, is an unique park, and have different kinds of shopping and local stuff that the ones living there actually feel the need and the will to go. It's unfortunate that they planned it that way, they'll probably go down if they favor only the tourists (mainly USA and England)
@weebcraft6829Ай бұрын
Whats wrong with that though? Aside from possibly staff language changes, most of the big global theme parks are anglo-centric
@samsaek666Ай бұрын
Sure… their uniqueness is “we’re going to build the mostest something” (fastest, tallest, longest, most expensive) and spend infinite amount of money and tack on a random brand (Ferrari, Real Madrid park ffs). And expect it to become Orlando overnight

This was the one park I went to in the UAE. Unfortunately I had a pretty bad day there ngl. For one I didnt know that paying at the gate came at a surcharge, so I had to pay much more to get in. But I also had several ride closures when I went. Like when Taylor and Sarah went, John Wick and the Kung Fu Panda ride were both closed, but more importantly, Dragon Gliders was also just closed too with no reason. So I missed out on some pretty notable rides. Especially the 2 coasters, I've never ridden an S&S 4D Free spin in my life, nor have I ever ridden a Mack inverted powered coaster either. But what was almost more damning were the lines and operations. I happened to go on a day with over 500 school kids visiting. And they were ROWDY. They were constantly jumping the lines, vandalising the theming, and just being unpleasant to be around. It meant rides like Capitol Bullet train and Madagascar Mad Pursuit regularly got 30-40 minute wait times, Now You see me High roller got a 1 hour line at one point, and that ride was actually closed earlier in the day. It was a blessing when the kids all left at the same time in the afternoon, but even besides that, the operations were just so slow! Rides like Capitol Bullet train only ran 1 train and each dispatch took over 2 minutes! So sadly I think I got a pretty poor value day at the park. Though honestly even if things were all open, IDK if I'd call it good value. I looked around at the build quality of the sets and theming elements too and it all just felt cheap. Like it wasnt built to last. So honestly I'd probably not return. It probably would've been decent value if it had more rides like the wooden coaster over at Real Madrid world, but splitting it all up into 3 parks is like shooting themselves in the foot. You spread your demand too thin and each gate is too poor value for people to wanna pay for any of them, certainly not all 3 together. Though its location doesnt help with that either! The public transit out there is practically a joke, and to even get there on the few buses that do run, you'd need a smartcard which afaik only residents can get since they dont accept cash. If the Dubai Metro would go there i'd be a different story, but the only alternatives are then either a rental car, or a Taxi. And not only are the taxis expensive, but the highway past motiongate gets completely gridlocked EVERY DAY! So when I went I stayed in the Dubai Marina, which is fairly close. But going from Motiongate to the Marina in a taxi took over an hour because of traffic, when it took only about 15-20 minutes without traffic. That stuff needs to change tbh.
@timr5621Ай бұрын
Yeah ops were awful when I went. Felt like a knock off Universal but in all the wrong ways, Dragon Gliders is great - but all the dark rides (even Shrek), felt empty, lacking detail. It was dead when we went but every ride is just so average (with the exception of Dragon Gliders) that it wasn't really worth the money imo.

Hey Coaster Studios! I live in Dubai and I am a huge theme park fanatic and I get really sad at some of the choices Dubai, or the Emirates makes on some theme-parks and other time it is actually the opposite and I love what they do. I really have a love hate relationship with all theme parks. In the region, I would say my favourite is Motion Gate. I have been 3 times and all the times I really do enjoy it as it’s feel is very different from traditional parks and I think the aspect of it being empty, although saddens my heart, also sometimes feels very cool as I get to enjoy the park to myself. I believe definitely that the park should incorporate more thrill coasters, but something I hate is that whenever I attend the parks one of the more famous rides are down, first time I went I never got to go to Madagascar and the second two times it was closed in the morning. All the times I went, the Kung-Fu panda ride was closed and the last time I attended the park, Dragon Gliders opened on the last 2hrs of the park.

So there's I think like two big things that are causing countries like the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar issues with having giant impressive theme parks because we all know they're trying to do this because they're oil wells are running out. One is simply that none of these countries have like our local culture that already exists of like going to theme parks like you think of like the UK and the United States in China and in Japan and they all sprung up theme parks around the same time Disneyland came out. So these local cultures already have a thing about like having enough disposable income to go out and ride a couple of roller coasters and stuff. And while obviously there's festivals and stuff that exists in the Middle East like that, it's not on the same level where you know a theme park would be completely viable. Another issue which has been pointing out in this video is that all these theme parks are like 8 million miles away from the population. If you look at places where there's a lot of theme parks and themed entertainment like Florida and Las Vegas, especially Las Vegas like Las Vegas is literally in the middle of the desert. But the thing is is that all of the entertainment is on the strip which runs the entirely through the middle of the city. So like even though there's obviously a big difference between the entertainment section and the poor people that live around it, it's still built into the local population. It's one of the reasons why people in Orlando constantly complained because the theme parks keep expanding and then they have to keep driving around them because they're directly built into their statues of living, which means that they're very convenient to get to for both locals and people out of town. Sadly, I think the biggest problem that the UAE needs to do first is they need to spend like 50 years changing the marketing and the political behavior of their country. When if they're trying to attract tourists even like the ultra Rich which is unsustainable like you pull any American aside from any demographic of any political line. And you ask them UA what do you think? All they imagine is old oil tycoons wearing giant turbines and white robes and giant Gucci shades like deciding to just buy a planet and then never doing anything with it. Immediately follows is that oh yeah, slavery still exist there and they shoot women in the face for sport and a lot of that stuff has changed and improved. But this is what the general global population thinks of your country. America in the UK and China are also really terrible but they also have done a lot in their PR especially China to show. Hey, we have like living human beings that walk on land and breathe air. You can literally just look up media stuff and it's just like here's some random Chinese person vlogging about shoes or here's this American trying to do a tutorial on how to cook correctly you know. Like normal everyday people and the stuff they kind of go through everything from the UAE and similar to Saudi Arabia and Qatar are all done by their upper 1% rich population for their upper 1% rich population. And then everything else that comes out of the country globally is horrific. So firstly you should really build up their image of like hey, this is just an average place to live. We're just Muslims but full of sand and that's about it. We like smoking pot and watching cartoons like the rest of you and the concern making entertainment options that will make people all over the globe be like you know what we're flying through. Let's stop by here and check this out. China used to be and still kind of. Is this giant Soviet totalitarian CEO and they've rehabilitated their image that they have an entertainment class. So if China can do it, the Middle East really has no excuse.
