I don’t even know if I even want to go to a six flags park for 2025 just because of the way corporate slapped their costumers in the face with the way they’ve handled iconic, nostalgic ride removals, yes I know what’s new for 2025 should be epic but I’m not sure I want to spend money at their parks for them to continue the way they are

What about all the other ride closures after the season? I REALLY hope that this new, horrible attitude towards ride closures changes real soon. This is NOT the way you treat your guests. The new superchain SUCKS so far.

Changing the Disney DAS system was very hard for me. People who abused the system ruined it for us. If they really want to control it to make sure the people who really need it and not faking it, they should use IAC program which is what Six Flags and Universal uses. I had no issue with it and I felt more secure, plus you have to do apply to the program with a doctor’s note to get it thus faking it is near impossible. Come on Disney, step it up!
@Spike-sk7ql2 сағат бұрын
The six flags/universal way was what I thought Disney was doing. That's also the plan that we are hoping that the legacy cedar fair parks start using the six flags plan too. The abuse of the ADA pass at CP and KI is ridiculous, and they haven't done a thing about it. It all started in 2020 with the abuse.

I actually liked Nighthawk. The Vekoma flying Dutchman is one of the most underrated coaster models out there. X Flight at Geauga Lake was the first one I rode, and honestly the best one too. Didn't Carowinds JUST do all that work to it too? I REALLY hope that whoever thought that closing rides down all unceremoniously like this would be a good idea, is fired by next year, or at least is convinced that this is NOT the way you treat your guests.

What a horrible year for coasters. I mean, we have the delayed opening of 2 of the six flags legacy park coasters, the opening and closure of TT2, the mess of Siren’s Curse, and the closure of 5 coasters without warning. Oh, at least we got our last rides on the boomerang at SF Mexico, which is sadly only getting a retheme, yet we won’t tell you about Kingda Ka. What a year it’s been.

to me, the most suprising this that happened in 2024 was..... boomerang at la ronde. i've never seen a ride get stuck so often with people on board, per my estimations, the train got stuck on the 2nd chain at least 200 times (the issue started in august), nobody really know what the REAL issue is because there is no error code showing, maintenance tried to fix the issue and it was closed for 2 weeks, it didn't work at all. BUT maintenance said it was safe to operate since it only takes about 5 mins from when the train gets stuck to when it's parked in the station, i got the confirmation a while ago that boomerang will not be removed, la ronde already took out a ride last year, but it was for a very good reson, gravitor (it BIIIIIIIIIIIG broke)

I'm convinced that the ka closure wasnt any sf legacy personel and was strictly legacy CF personel because that style of closure is right up their alley. A lot of the sixflags parks for years got bad attractions. It’s comes down to attendance, reliability and costs . If a ride cost more than it’s worth to put in, it will simply be removed. They don’t owe anyone last rides . Especially given their closing them in the off season
@Spike-sk7qlСағат бұрын
No, they actually DO owe their guests last rides, and announcements BEFORE the park closes for the year. This is no way to treat your guests. Especially the loyal guests who keep coming back year after year, and spending money in the park. People develop emotional attachments to these rides. I went through the closure of my whole home park (Geauga Lake) by cedar fair execs with no announcement until the day after closing day. That is not a good feeling. These places are in the entertainment industry. In the amusement park side of the business, you have to develop a good relationship with your guests, or they will stop coming back. People have stopped going to Kings Island all together, simply because, and I quote, "the park feels much too corporate anymore, and not personal at all. Like they don't really care about guests as much anymore." I've also seen where the execs are treating the season pass holders like a burden. That's not the way to win favor with guests.
@ZacharyNeuberger15 сағат бұрын
Great adventure is screwed in 2025. Attendance will drop considerably I assume. The way they closed ka was a middle finger to everyone including the staff at the park. An announcement even if it was shorter notice was absolutely possible. Still have slight hope for refurbishment because of the permit saying work type alteration but I know deep down it’s probably just coming down😢

@jillianmyerly181813 сағат бұрын
It'll be interesting to see how Siren's Curse affects Cedar Point's ride additions and removals going forward. Like you guys said, it's right next to Valravn and it has a similar gimmick, so could Valravn have moved up the removal list? Could they end up removing that next instead of, say, Iron Dragon or Corkscrew? Or how far back does this set their timeline for getting another major attraction? Are they going to get nothing major until 2030 now, versus a 2026-27 addition?
@Spike-sk7qlСағат бұрын
Well it's been 6 years since Steel Vengeance, (the last major thrill ride added to CP), and in 24 they wouldhave had a refurbished top thrill dragster, had they called Intamin. But they called Zamperla, so they got not only 1, but TWO 420' lawn ornaments for 2024. So 2025 gives us out apology addition, and will most definitely reset the clock. Don't expect another high thrill ride added to CP until at least 2028-29. And they also don't need it until then. As long as they don't remove anything.

10:52 Muppet Vision 3D is closing permanently and it was the LAST project that Jim Henson ever worked on. It just feels the Muppet retheming of Rockin' Roller Coaster is Disney's way of trying to soften the blow by saying "We're not removing the Muppets from the parks. We're just moving them to a different ride." It's like they're intentionally trying to hide the fact that they're getting rid of Jim Henson's greatest work. Cedar Fair was responsible, for the tragic King Da Ka situation. Rumors now is that they plan to rebuild the park in their image now that they have most control over the decisions made at the park. This isn’t Six Flags Great Adventure anymore. Cedar Fair executives plan to rebuild this park in their “squeaky clean” image, while stepping over the Six Flags community in doing so. I refuse to entertain the idea of a park that has a 50 year legacy, with some of the most beloved record breaking rides, and attractions, and a loyal grassroots fanbase and atmosphere, become Cedar Fair’s fresh new sandbox like its Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. Not to mention I wouldn’t exactly put the more conspiratorial motive past them, where petty resentment over King Da Ka stealing Top Thrill Dragster’s height record, as a upgrade carbon copy, 15 years ago lead to this decision. Nor would I put past this company,the fact that Mantis or R, (I forgot how to spell the name of the floorless conversion and I’m not looking it up right now.) being near mirror image of Green Lantern leading to that decision either. If Fair wants to rip out Great Adventure’s identity to create a “glowing new destination” for thrill seekers and tourists, then I’m not willing to leave a park for them to do it with, and I encourage any Six Flags Great Adventure loyalist to do the same. No more sales, engagement, or promotion with the park. Zero capital left. Let’s make an example out of this situation. Let’s preserve Great Adventure’s legacy, by taking away whats left before Fair builds their new ego stroker on the parks ashes.

@iiskylandermansav- If anything, this is a bunch of pettiness and personal vendettas being dealt out by the Cedar Fair people...SF came out with Chang (later Green Lantern when it was moved from Kentucky Kingdom to SFGAdv) the year after Cedar Point came out with Mantis, Mantis' records were stolen by Chang/Green Lantern and Riddler, then came TTD and Kingda Ka after that. Both times it was CF first, then SF stealing CF's thunder. All these years later and the CF folks are still bitter.
