Cedar Point just has a very special spot in my heart. It is a lot more to me than just an amusement park. I've always wanted to visit it, which seemed a rather distant reality for me since I was born and raised in Brazil. I spent years and years of my life watching videos on KZbin and dreaming of the day when I'd finally have the chance to be there myself. After a lot of planning and saving I finally had the chance to do so in 2022. I met the love of my life during my visit to Sandusky, who happens to have worked at Cedar Point for over a decade. We got married last year and I now live in just across the lake from the park and can not only call Cedar Point my home park but also see it from my balcony. My life changed completely because of my first ever visit to CP! Sometimes it just feels unreal to me that I get to visit the park pretty much daily, even if just to go grab some food and walk around with my partner. Cedar Point is so special to me!

That's awesome to hear brother for real. I do the same I have a good pass and will go to Kings Island which is my home park and I'll walk around get some food and ride just a coaster or 2 that has a short line. It's fun to just walk around and listen to the sounds sometimes and just have a relaxing day. I'm going to Cedar point for the first time this coming Monday and Tuesday and I can not be any more excited about it. 2 more days and I'll be in the park riding steel vengeance, Maverick and more.

My family of 6 did a Lighthouse Point cabin once, and it was a fantastic experience. The best advice I received, which I followed, was to leave the park at dinnertime for a couple of hours, and use the grill to make dinner. Not only was that cheaper than dinner in the park but it allowed us to relax a couple of hours and recharge to then return to the park until close.

I KNOW this sounds weird, but the fact that Magnum is so forgotten breaks my heart. It was THE freaking coaster my first time there as a kid. Blew my mind. First 200' coaster ever made. Now it's "boring" to my kids because every other coaster is faster, taller, or has inversions etc. I'd love CP to revamp it somehow. Maybe add a tilt?? IDK. I just hate that it's so underappreciated these days.

@@xmanzy7293 I have never even thought about how rough a ride was, including Meanstreak which apparently was one of the roughest ever. I never knew of this at the time, but since then have seen people say how it was brutally rough, to the point that they had to redesign the ride, and I just don't have any memory of that at all. I may sound old here but I think it may be generational. There was a time when pretty much every coaster was rough and the designers didn't even think about how smooth the ride would be, so when every one is like that, you either accepted it as part of the deal, or you didn't ride.

I was fortunate enough to live only 35 minutes away from Cedar Point when I was growing up and have visited the park probably 100 times over the years, even being a season pass holder for quite a few years when I was in my late teens and early 20's. I also got to experience the height of the coaster wars and ride coasters such as Millennium, Top Thrill, and Maverick the years that they came out. To say that I was fortunate in that respect would be an understatement.

My wife and I visited Cedar Point for our very first time last year on our honeymoon! It was right after Memorial Day weekend. We got a 3 day pass/Hotel Breakers bundle. It came out to like $1300 and some change after tax. But worth it since it was our honeymoon. The park itself really is an enthusiasts dream. It has everything you could want, and depending on what time of the year you go the lines aren't too crazy. We've been to many parks in the short year that we've been married, Cedar Point is just magical to us. Fingers crossed TT2 works out its kinks and is up and running sometime in the near future!

My 1st trip was June 28, 2017. I had been wanting to go since the early 2000's. We stayed at a hotel near CLE Airport and caught an Uber from there to the park 1st thing the next morning. Got there when gates opened and stayed til near closing. HAD A BLAST! We requested an Uber back, but didn't know at the time that it was still NEW to the Sandusky area, so it was possible we weren't gonna get a ride back. Luckily we did after a 20min wait. Turns out, the driver said he was only the 2ND driver who signed up at the time, so were lucky to get him. Definitely a memorable trip. ❤

I grew up living 2 hours from Cedar Point and my parents would pull me and my siblings out of school on a random weekday in May to go to Cedar Point every year until we graduated high school. Growing up in the 90s and getting to ride stuff like Raptor, Mantis, Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster on their opening years when they were brand new was truly magical. I'm in my 30s now and have only recently started visiting other regional parks throughout the US and it's made me appreciate the variety of coaster types that Cedar Point has. The only park I've been to that has the variety they do is Six Flags Magic Mountain.

@JermsState Retracking Grizzly with GG track and retheming Avalanche has definitely helped. I expect Backot Stunt will be getting a safari-oriented retheme soon - all of the former Italian Job coasters are long overdue for it. One possible wild card: if Six Flags decides to sell off Six Flags America and relocate their Gotham City / DC coasters to other parks, then KD might get Superman with a fresh coat of paint, new theme, and tunnels. It would actually fit in well tucked behind Twisted Timbers, providing a good balance to Project 305.

My family and I was just there last Wednesday. It turned out to be a very hot day and great day after the fact. However, the first half of the day was plagued with coaster/ride closures, scheduled, YES SCHEDULED, openings of roller coasters and lack of staff kept too many food options closed (I'm looking at you ice cream shops that don't open until 4pm on a 90 degree day). I LOVE Cedar Point, but for the first time ever, I felt just disappointed in what the park had become. Lucky for my family, the day was spent making memories regardless of the heat and lines were OUTSTANDING (no Fast lane purchased). Longest we waited for a coaster was one hour (Millie and Stevie). Awesome video!

I went to Cedar Point last week for the first time in over a decade. The rides are still as incredible as I remember them to be when I last went as a high schooler. However, I felt like the lines were much longer. I went on a Monday (given it was the week of the 4th of July) but I was not expecting all the main rides to 1-2 hour lines, all day, on a Monday. I had a blast but was bummed I missed the Maverick simply because there wasn't enough time to hit all the main coasters when you're waiting 90+ minutes 5 or 6 different times. I have no issue waiting that long for the Millennium Force, Steel Vengeance, etc. but to wait 60+ mins for the mid tier coasters was a bummer and was not expected. I frequented the park in the late 2000s and early 2010s and don't recall ever waiting more than 45 mins for anything other than millennium force and dragster.

Home park and season pass holder - I've logged thousands of miles traveling to theme parks with 4 small kids, and Cedar Point is top tier for parents going with kids. Their parent swap pass is by far the best, and areas like their family care centers are a game changer. Without those kinds of things, there's no way I would go as much as I do...they make it easy for parents to experience high thrill attractions, even while giving a great experience to their kids at the same time. That being said, the biggest gap I have seen is rides for the 42" height requirement. Wild Mouse was the perfect addition for that age group - rides like Iron Dragon, Blue Streak, and Cedar Creek Mine Ride are all 48" height requirement, while similar rides are 42" at other parks. So the step between kiddie coasters and the big ones is missing the mark there. In the same vein, Kiddie Kingdom is almost the only area with rides for kids below 36" - so that is actually a really important area of the park for families, more so than Planet Snoopy if you have to pick one. Not saying they couldn't adjust or consolidate both areas somehow, but they definitely need to keep as many rides as possible for kids below 36" or it's a huge obstacle for parents who are considering whether a high thrill park like Cedar Point is also kid friendly. And those are the customers who pay the bills after all (which my bank account reminds me every year).

Maybe it's inevitable, since Cedar Point is the 2nd oldest park and has the 2nd most coasters in the US. But it blows my mind that this park still has FIVE coasters which opened before 1980 (Blue Streak, CCMR, Corkscrew, Gemini, & Wilderness Run)! Magic Mountain, Kings Island, Hersheypark, Over Texas, and Over Georgia each have 3. And the only other park that comes close is Canada's Wonderland, with its 5 coasters from opening day in 1981 still operating. Cedar Point really treats its lineup more like a museum than any other park, with its median coaster by age (Rougarou/Mantis) ringing in its 29th season this year. And while we love to hate on CCMR and Corkscrew, it's still important to get a ride in while they're still around.

I feel completely lucky that this was my home park growing up and I still consider it the best amusement park in the world! I was only 3 hours from it and I remember going every year since the late 80s and the fact that were part of the coaster wars for many years was a very exciting time for me. I credit this park for making me an enthusiast the way I am today and I'm gonna mention Magnum as the reason for it! Magnum is still in my top 10 favorite coasters, and it still beats MForce for me any day! I do miss CP Operations before the 2010s when Ops were flawless and quick and barely any upcharges for most things. If I could take this park and move it down to FL where I currently live, I would NEVER leave!

Got a subscribe from me. This is my home park and your review of this property is spot on. I've been going to this park every year for 50 years and have worked at the park as an in-direct employee for many years. Great job with thoughts and suggestions on this park. Prepare for hot, wet, cold, windy, dry weather, Cedar Point has it's own climate system, and spend two days are keys to a perfect vacation. Love the TT2 jab, it's true, but no one wants to say it.

When I was in school my senior year we were able to go to Cedar Point with my high school band and march around Cedar Point playing for people. They had a bunch of school from all over. They were from Ohio, Michigan {were I'm from), Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, etc. It was a fun day.

Grew up in southeast Michigan and this was "our" park. It was still an almost 2 hour drive so I only got to go maybe a dozen times (as we now live on the west coast) but it still holds a special place in my heat and is for sure the reason I'm a coaster lover now. Maverick and Raptor are my favorite rides there. So glad I got to have many rides Disaster Transport before it closed. I really loved that ride.

Cedar Point started my love of coasters. My mom took me on Cedar Creek Mine Ride with my cousin. Then my cousin and I rode Magnum after that. This was back when Magnum was new 🤪 Going back with my young kids has been fun. My 9 year is now a thoosie too! My 5 year old is so eager for the big coasters, just a few more inches to the 48 mark. My fam loves Magnum! It is one of the best night rides at CP!

I just visited and it is actually possible to get here without a car. I would definitely recommend the Amtrak from Cleveland and once you’re in Sandusky if you’re staying at a hotel off property, use the Sandusky taxi service.

Thank you for your channel. Helped us plan several recent family vacations over the last few years to parks we would have never known about. Best wishes in all your travels this summer. Cedar Point was not originally my home park, Geauga Lake was (sad what happened there.) A couple things... 1. Those two kids areas in the front of the park were always there, they are dated, but I'm not sure all those kids rides over by Windseeker came from Geauga Lake. 2. The other kids area was originally on Gemini midway, then Camp Snoopy opened up. 3. I think Mine Ride could be the next one out, so they can tie into that area you mentioned where nothing has worked, I think it would be a family style coaster 4. Mantis was rough and uncomfortable. You did not miss anything there. 5. When Magnum opened in 1989, it was a 3 hour wait, the queue lines wrapped behind the restrooms and almost down by Corkscrew 6. Anyone coming for the first time should really plan for two days, at least, in order to get the full experience 7. Do you think some of their "arrogance" has to do with the fact that they only have about 5 months to make their revenue for the year, I kind of think that is a part of it, they get May through hopefully October. 8. Restrooms need upgraded. Thanks for the channel, again, best wishes on your summer travels. Keep up the great work!

I will be visiting there in one month! Last time I was there was in 2008 and I'm super excited to get on everything they've added since then. Driving up from Cincinnati early in the morning, then meeting my college buddies to get to the park at opening then when we're done staying at a hotel near by then getting up early to drive back to Cincy to start a half day of work at 2pm. I'm sure I'm going to be EXHUASTED, but I can't freaking wait!!!! 🙂

My one trip to Cedar Point was in 2016. I bet my mother that if I beat her SAT scores, she'd take me for a two-day trip. We left Massachusetts on a Thursday night, stayed in a hotel near the MA/NY border, drove to the park all day Friday, and stayed in a nearby hotel for the next couple nights. After two full days at the park, we drove all the way back in a single marathon day. Haven't been back since, and after my eye surgery in 2019, I can't ride roller coasters anymore without risking re-detaching my retina, so glad I got my Cedar Point trip before that happened

Me and my family stayed at the Breakers back in 2021. That hotel has that classic "Overlook" feel, white walls, red carpet, big statues in the lobby. If you stay in Sandusky, I wholly recommend the hotel for the premium experience and the beach behind it. But if it's out of your price range, Sandusky Hotel is cheaper, has great rooms, and is very much themed to enthusiasts with cool pictures of the rides in the rooms and on the elevator. I'll have to try a cabin my next trip just for something new.

I was born in Ohio, so I was lucky to have such parks as Kings Island, Geauga Lake, Idora Park, not to mention the neighboring state of PA and its great parks....but the mecca even as a child was Cedar Point. I have such great memories of my huge family of 10 staying at The Breakers and hanging out on the shore making sand castles. As a kid, The Blue Streak terrified me and was THE biggest coaster at the time. The Earthquake dark ride was another favorite. Little by little, the park transformed, adding more and more coasters. When Corkscrew debuted, we lost our minds! Now, it's obviously world class with their newer coasters putting the old ones to shame. My last visit, I didn't even bother with Corkscrew, knowing how janky and uncomfortable it felt. I'm lucky to have the parks nearby that I do now in my home in Los Angeles, but nothing brings me more joy than how Cedar Point feels.

I love Magnum. I rode it the year it opened and it was the first roller coaster I ever rode. It blows my mind to go there now see how short the wait it is for it. It’s steel one of my favorite roller coasters there.

I agree about the superiority complex, and I love that you showed Silver Dollar City when saying that other parks don't have that arrogance. SDC & Dollywood are my 2 favorite parks. One more downside to Cedar Point is the ride breakdowns. It's the worst park at keeping their rides up & running in my experience, and nowhere else comes close(Not in reference to TT2 at all, but just in general). Also, fast lane often doesn't help much or at all. I've waited 75 minutes in a fast lane when the regular line was 45 minutes. Anyone on a budget looking for a hotel, Rodeway Inn North is my top and really only recommendation. 4 stays there, and the rooms have been very clean and comfortable, very short drive to the park, low prices, friendly staff, and you only need a hotel for sleeping. No free breakfast there. For Magnum, I have a very controversial opinion: I don't think it's that great nor bad. People either think it's one of the best coasters in the world or they hate it. I think it's mid.

If you don't mind me asking, do you remember what ride was it that you waited in FLP for 75min with the regular on 45min? That seems extremely strange and completely defeats the purpose of FLP in that case lol

@@lavawalker306 It was on Top Thrill Dragster, in July 2021. I didn't realize it was like that until it made no sense to switch lines. It was insane. Valravn was bad too, as my friends without fast lane got on it 2 trains sooner. Steel Vengeance took an hour, while the regular line was 70 minutes. Maverick's fast lane line went very far down the midway. When the park is slammed, half the guests buy fast lane, which makes it pointless to get. It becomes just an alternate line that's about the same length or longer. I've gotten more rides done on my non-fast-lane days there. Especially if you see that fast lane is sold out, you know that half the guests have it.

I have been to Cedar Point twice and I would definitely recommend staying at the cheaper hotel cedar point shores. It’s average hotel but it does still help you out when you are booking your vacation including the early access. I have ate at the restaurant Melt a couple times and it’s a good place to sit down and rest and staff was very helpful especially since someone had Dramamine which worked for me. I would also recommend getting a locker at the front entrance to the park so you are not bouncing from locker to locker location. Only draw back is it’s a long walk back to the front. Bring your walking shoes.

Great Video. Another thing that is pretty cool int he ara would be to take a trip to Put-In-Bay. It's a little island that is fairly easy to get to by ferry. Go on a Friday or Saturday night when the bars are hoppin'. It's like a little party in the middle of Lake Erie. Just don't miss the return trip on the ferry as they book up and you might not get on a later time slot 🙂

I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, and CP was always a must go to at least once a season. The last time I went was the year Millennium Force opened, and I got to ride it three times. I want to go back, but I know that being from California it will require some planning. The one thing I will definitely do is stay on property AND pay for the Fast Lane / Food packages. Seeing that it's been 25 years since I was there, that this would be a special visit. And maybe Magnum will be up and running. (The last three times I went, all after it opened, the coaster was down.)

I've been coming to cedar point since 1976. The corkscrew was brand new at the time. We would host our family reunions there every year. I've ridden all the coasters, including Top thrill and steel vengeance. I'm 65 now, and work in Tn. I was excited when they revamped Top thrill to T2. However, I'm not interested in traveling from Tn to Ohio until that attraction actually opens. The other thing I miss is the picnic pavilion area. That was such a great and economical way for families to eat, gather, and talk about their experiences on what they rode, bought, etc. The cost of the park is way more expensive than back in the 70's. But it's to be expected. It's still worth it with all the new great attractions ( someone's gotta pay for them, right?) Last time I was there we did the fast lane plus. It did speed up our riding tremendously, however, I rode so much, I felt the G forces were going to have my brain explode out of my head by the end of the day! 😂 so, use caution, and give yourself time to recoup. So ad I close this, it IS still a great park, so when grandkids come, I'd like to take them when they're old enough to ride.

Cedar Point is my home park. I just went on Thursday. For the first half of the day, every single coaster I went to either broke down when I got to it, broke down when I was next in line, or broke down immediately after I rode it. At one point, the app showed that only 2 coasters were operating. I know that’s not exactly accurate since the mobile app is hot garbage and doesn’t update wait times at all, but still very annoying. The park has some fantastic coasters obviously, but those fantastic coasters need a big boost from maintenance.

Nice summary. Well put together. Cedar Point is a fantastic park. But like you said it’s flaw. Being the best park in the world. That was definitely true in the 2000’s. Unparalleled with the rides from 1990-2006. After that, they’ve actually lost more rides than they have built. Some areas need more love again. Like flat ride love.

I miss the frontier lift. It made getting to the back of the park faster and more convenient. You could have actually first grabbed the midway lift (still operating) at the front of the park, then after getting off walk a stone's throw to the frontier lift which took you to frontier town. I never understood why they removed it. The midway and frontier lifts were a perfect combination.
