So happy that Dorney is finally getting a new coaster

The construction and design always seemed so interesting to me. I know this is super obvious but as an enthusiast, It's so cool to hang super big heavy steel track up high then for a train to go through it all safely. It's just so crazy.

Couldn't agree more. Construction updates and such is awesome. Especially if you can see it in person.

There's something so satisfying about seeing pieces of metal being joined together to form a new roller coaster (I'm watching my second roller coaster construction video, having just watched one about the Big One in Blackpool, getting another section retracked, the bottom of the first drop up the hill or slight incline)

They should rename it to Hercules so they can save the Iron Menace name for their next coaster and to match with Hydra because both are B&M Floorless Coasters, but This Floorless Coaster is a B&M Floorless DIVE Coaster. However I would repaint Talon along with the logo into the same colors as Rougarou because they already got a new Orange colored Coaster,
@brianfoss57110 ай бұрын
Dorney probably won't be getting another major thrill coaster for a very long time. With the CF / SF merger, Dorney will be treated like the family park in the area, while Great Adventure will get thrill park investments. It'll be similar to how Knott's and Magic Mountain carve out separate niches.
@brianfoss57110 ай бұрын
I expect that if Dorney were to remove their Wild Mouse (it doesn't help them compete with Hershey, after all) they'd replace it with a Zamperla spinning wild mouse or a RMC Wild Moose. Neither seems worthy of names like "Hercules" or "Iron Menace."

@Coaster Studios I have a totally unrelated question; I want to go to King's Dominion and was wondering if they force people to put their wallets, cell phones, etc. in a locker to ride Intimidator 305 or Flight of Fear. I have shorts with zipper pockets; do they make you get a locker and put everything in it even if you have zipper pockets? Thanks
@CoasterStudios10 ай бұрын
You won't need a locker for i305 or Flight of Fear, you can keep your items in zipper pockets

Cool for a park that hasn't got anything in ages... but divecoasters (ESP w/ vest restraints) is a waste of a modern coaster investment. GP magnet, somewhat great capacity + short ride (high throughput), and B&M real good reliability. I get it, but to an enthusiast, and imo, incredibly stale/boring. Something like maxx force would be a worthy short length investment. Not an air launch, but what I meant with that is something highly unique. I get it though GP win every time.
@darrylellis480910 ай бұрын
Wow that’s not necessarily a good thing with this tiny dive coaster that barely does anything to be there biggest investment i find that kinda odd considering on how long it took them to even get a coaster. This coaster couldn’t been no more than 15,00000 at the most and that’s their biggest investment laughable.

Hydra cost $13m back in 2005. If Hydra were built today, it would cost $20m. If Medusa were built today, it would cost over $27.5m. This investment will do more for the park than you realize.
