B&M was once a byword for smoothness. I hope they don’t let themselves slip away from that.

I think they have gone a bit of a cheaper route by buying cheaper steel because the price of steel increased so much. I don't know of that is the issue of the roughness but it's very sad to hear from the most reliable roller coaster manufacturer.

Yeah
@jonny-b49549 ай бұрын
@@maxhagenauer24 Nahhh, most roughness nowadays comes from the trains. And B&M has always overbuilt their trains and has the best chassis in the industry. B&M has never been a discount manufacturer, always the premium one. So, I don't see them really trying to save money like that. Just increase the price and they have their 2-3 jobs they take on every year no matter what. I'd say it's just because of the train design. They may have been making cut backs there, or trying to streamline/lighten it. Maybe to compensate for the floors that are now on the train instead of a floor in station that lowers? So they weakened support elsewhere to compensate for weight? Who knows. That bump at the end turn though has to be a defect.

So. Dorney is a homepark of mine. I finally was able to get on this. 3 times in all three rows. My thoughts. Its a good soild ride, perfect for Dorney as Dorney is not a large scale park. It has great pacing and i love there is no mid course break. Themeing is great but the ride operators are now back in usual cedar fair uniform just fyi. I think that was only for the opening week they where dressed as iron workers. It does have a pothole during that wrap around though and its a little rought through the inclined loop. Besides that its a solid ride. FYI before anyone asks and i seen this commemt before on why Dorney didn't expand it or expand behind iron menace and steel force. Reason, the park is in Whitehall township and city ordinance state that every paved area on your property you need to have equal parts grass. Its stupid but why Dorney cant develop towards the back of the park.

That entrance into the brake run makes me think of Raptor's entrance into the brake run. On Raptor, my head pinballs between the bricks next to our head if I don't brace for it. I am a fan of the vest restraints for the no-headbanging, however, it does seem that there's something to the design of B&M's vest restraints that make it more likely to rattle, even when brand new.
@bradymartin90559 ай бұрын
i think the new b&m rattle / shake is from the new seats being a lot less heavy then the old seat and restraints design, the same reason why the intamin single rails have a rattle.

for me, I can't stop drawing parallels between this and Baron 1898. everything from the similar theme (goldmine being haunted by spirits & haunted steel mill) to the layout. both don't have a turn around. the first 3 elements are similar but just bigger on menace immelman, zero-g roll and then a helix/inclined loop. this feels like the US' version of Baron. ofcourse baron blows Menace out of the water in therms of theming but it feels similar.

I think I know what causes that issue at the end of the track and it’s a maneuver B&M has done since it’s inception and should have been accounted for. When the train starts leveling out laterals forces are introduced, and when these laterals are introduced it seems like the train absolutely can’t handle the sudden shock of the forces. All that energy transfers from the wheels to the riders and bam you have a very bad jolt. The only way I see this fixed is B&M developing new trains or increasing the strength of the springloaded wheels, but that’s my theory.

To be fair to Pipeline, it's a prototype with first-of-its-kind trains, so there are likely some issues that need to be ironed out with the model. If your feet are flat there is zero vibration but the shell of the seats you can see vibrating. I did get to do Dr. D and it was pretty bouncy for a new ride, so I do agree that the quality has gone downhill. It’s unfortunate because Sheikra remains glossy glossy smooth.

Compare ttd and tt2 off ride footage... the old intamin trains did not rattle left and right. Maybe there are less points of contact between the train and the seat, so vibrations are amplified?
