I think a lot of it comes down to how you fit in the restraints. I find SAW fine, the roughness doesn't really translate into an uncomfortable experience, while Colossus smacks me in just the right places to get me a half hour headache after riding it however I try to sit.

Not taking all this Saw: The Ride slander. I have ridden it twice - once last year and once in 2019. Both times it was perfectly smooth and it remains my favourite coaster on park. It's some of the most fun I've had at Thorpe

Many happy memories watching this! I worked 2 seasons at Thorpe park about 18 years ago now! Best job I ever had! Was also part of the first team that worked on Stealth back in 2006! Still my favourite ride! Was so great watching you all enjoy yourselves there!

Saw's glass smooth if you ride in the back row, inside seat. Just as smooth as Swarm, but without the torso-crushing vests.

You have to keep your head forward on saw and you want to sit on an inside seat for it to be smoother

I broke a rib on swarm and dislocated my shoulder on stealth. On swarm the restraints tighten as you go through a certain bit and that's when it just cracked. On stealth when I was like 14 I put my arms up before the launch and it dragged my arm back with such force my shoulder popped out, but I managed to get it back into place before the ride ended. I'm 26 now and still love thorpe park lol.

I live an hour away, and my favourite ride there is nemesis inferno because it is riding super intense this year. I never liked colossus, but I rode it last week in the front and it is now one of my favourites in the park

Went to Thorpe Park a while ago, it bummed me out so much that Nemesis Inferno was closed for the past week. We get there, it still says it’s closed on the queues and apps. We look over from the other side of the park and see people riding it. Never sprinted faster in my life for a queue, I was so happy we got on it the day it opened.

Was really intrigued by your revisit and the ride next to Black Mirror is S&S Sky Swat Slammer I did ride it and it was one of the most unique experiences I have ever done and it annoys me that its still standing their when I know how good it was. Thorpe Park definitely needs a Standout and Project Exodus may just be that ride it needs.

The Sky Swat is peak 2000s S&S. Unique, absurdly intense, but hideously unreliable. Was hoping that Thorpe Park's was just temporarily down, but it's SBNO, leaving none left.

19:00 I thought colossus was quite a rough ride to be frank. Rode it recently and it kinda rode like a shopping trolley even when they partially retracked the heartline rolls. Hopefully when this coaster is fully retracked, it will be a much smoother ride. It’s still a good ride though.

Taylor / Sarah top tip, when you come over for project exodus. Consider basing yourself in woking Surrey, rather than London, it’s much closer than Guildford. It’s Super close to Thorpe park. If the new Hilton (which is in a modest skyscraper) is open by next year too you’ll have views out across the forests to the ride in the distance I think. And very good food options in town. Best Chinese in town is probably so’s kitchen by the station…

The 4 twists in a row on Colossus is just uncomfortable. I get that it's a signature element for the ride but it doesn't actually feel good to ride at all! Totally agree that it's not so bad on the front though. Crazy how Saw has become the roughest ride there now, it's unbearable. A shame as it used to be one of my favourites! The theming is so unique and the indoor section is great. Very hopeful that Project Exodus will usher in a new era for Thorpe where we see more regular additions and better care of the park. Some areas are just amazing (Swarm Island especially). It's cool seeing enthusiasts' thoughts on my home park, especially those who have experienced a whole other world as far as theme parks go 😁

Knew Thorpe would pop up in this series but didn’t expect it to hit this close to home - used to go to University of Surrey, graduated in 2018 (weird seeing you having pizza downstairs in the library building with nobody around…). Me and my mates had annual passes in our second year and used to skip lectures midweek to go. Always empty, walk ons on everything, constant re-rides and the pizza buffet.. Still live 25 mins away so go at least once a year, they’re opening it up at the end of September for a running event so I’m doing a 10K through the park which will be class. You’re right though, Thorpe has a good line up but nothing world class, Exodus will hopefully fix that 🤞 Hot take - X was better than Walking Dead, full on Rave:The Ride and proper budget. Also a shame you didn’t get to go on Inferno, it’s pretty snappy

I like Thorpe park but I think it seems to be confused as to what its target market is. It could do with some tlc in the coming years.

One thing I love about Merlin parks is that they have so many rides that you can't possibly ride all of them in one day, so there's always something new. Plus, they have good theming. My previous visit helped me appreciate Stealth more. It's not just about that launch. You also get good positive Gs going up the top hat, and good airtime as you crest over and on the bunny hop. The top hat is the best single airtime moment in the park. Although Saw and Colossus have more airtime overall. Ghost Train was my longest wait last time I visited, partially because all my other waits were so short. The capacity heavily depends on the number of scare actors they have working. The ride has lots of block zones so you can have many groups of riders on at the same time, but each group of riders needs 3 scare actors. So, running this attraction at maximum capacity is expensive. I do wish I rode the original when I had the chance. I chickened out, telling myself I would ride it next year. But then next year, I find it's been replaced. At least the new version should have less downtime. Saw is glass smooth in the back row, inside seat. It's also mostly smooth in the back row, outside seat, albeit with a few potholes. I've not ridden it in the front in ages, but presumably, it's rougher than the back. Most Eurofighters are rougher in the front. Nemesis Inferno has some headbanging in the outside seats. I plan on riding it in an inside seat next time I visit. I used to hate Colossus, but since the retrack, it has now become my favourite in the park. Just keep your head forward, hold the restraints up in the first loop, and brace for the corkscrews. The Swarm used to be comfortable but forceless and boring, but now I've grown, the vest restraints have become real torso crushers. It's the one ride in the park which made me gray out, and I think it might be because those vests restricted my breathing. But the helix is really intense. But it's now the least comfortable ride in the park. They should remove the vests and give it lapbars.
