Finally the ground swell to rid this world of "throw away society" is alive and well. I hope the excitement of quality boots and shoes will splash into clothes and outerwear. There is no reason why this business model of removing the middleman couldn't work for the clothing industry. Keep up the great work guys.

wescobts We couldn’t agree more! I definitely think with the internet and more and more smaller companies going direct to consumer, we’ll begin to see a return to many more artisan driven products. Probably won’t take over the demand for mass produced clothing/shoes, but it will at least keep smaller artisans employed with work and will continue to show the masses that there are other options.

The same movement very much exists in clothing (including outerwear, you've got brands like Bastong at Pitti Uomo), although more so in Europe (especially England and France) or Japan than the US. Though the US does have some really cool work wear brands.

I recently bought a pair of shoes from cobbler union. I had a sizing and the experience was awesome. The attention to detail and knowledge made the experience more than just getting a pair of shoes. It was getting back to that personal experience that's missing in the modern mass produced market. I show off my shoes and wore them to Delta to show off. This experience happened prior to the pandemic. I just purchased another $100 in goods to try and support. I hope cobbler union pulls through. I'm always a little cautious of brands that advertise themselves a good deal. I find they market themselves more because their product isn't as good. And marketing is cheaper to make a profit than making a great product. So when I saw Cobbler Union, I investigated with caution. They have some great styles. And the pricing looks right. And I haven't heard or seen anything negative about them. Anywhere. They look to be an authentic, quality product and have their priorities right: quality and value for the customer.

Hey guys. Great videos and editing. Love the fact that you guys make these. Whoever is doing your video, encourage them to get after the audio portion next. You guys are doing enough stuff and gathering enough eyeballs now that a piece like this visit to the Cobbler Union is close to top-flight content, just a little hard to hear as the microphone boosts all the background noise. The title video level tends to be a little hotter than the video content. If you guys have a pro doing your video work, they will know what to get. If you have family or friends doing the work - it is pretty top notch and they can spend some time with google to find mics I am sure. Love the content, the video work. Keep them coming.

My first pair high quality leather shoes is from Cobbler Union. Their customer service is superb! I had a back and forth email conversation with them to help me finalize my shoe size. I am glad I made the purchase. Also, for those who are interested. I have since purchased a pair of Thursday and a pair of Alden as well. After a full winter of switching between the three, I would say this. Thursday (Vanguard) for me is the rugged boot built for the wet winter snow. Cobbler (Winchester) and Alden (Plain Toe Suede) on the other hand is for the drier winter. In terms of price, It was Thursday ($299), Cobbler Union ($475), and Alden ($615). In terms of quality, CU and Alden is about the same. Both are way better constructed than Thursday. Although, I would say Alden is a bit better because they have a wide selection of sizes for the same shoe.

I have 5 pairs of cobbler union shoes and just love everything about them. From the style to the people they are absolutely fantastic. Every time I walk in the store, from my very first purchase until now, my wife and I are greeted with a hug like family. ♥️ I would love to see you do another interview with them and talk about what separates them from the pack. I feel like that is the most important thing about CU. The touches like invisible channel stitching, to Goodyear welting, to the often red quilted stitching, leather quality, made to order, style and no risk return policy. They are in my opinion hands down the best value in quality shoes. They are better than AE in quality and style, and cheaper than the highly respectable Carmina (and right in the same ballpark in quality). No question I'll be buying more shoes from Cobbler Union in the future. I can't easily drop 300-400 on a pair of shoes but I won't buy any other brand. Any time I have done so I'm dissapointed. Quality shoes are not cheap but you absolutely get what you pay for. I will simply save up and buy when the time is right. Thank you CU and I hope this video brings you additional support in these crazy times.

When buying a leather-soled shoe, be sure to have sole protectors put on before you wear them! Youll have all the comfort of leather with the durability and waterproofing of rubber. When the sole protector wears out, have it replaced and you'll never lose the integrity of the original leather sole. Sole protectors can extend the life of your investment almost indefinitely.

Terrible experience with Cobbler Union. I bought a pair of oxfords and they were about a half size too small. Wore them in my living room for about five minutes, put them back in the box and sent them back for an exchange. The couple minutes I wore them in the house put some light creases in the vamp; I got an email back that this constituted them being “damaged” and ineligible for an exchange. A couple takeaways: first, simply trying on the shoes will crease the leather and make them ineligible for an exchange or return. Second, you’re taking a big risk buying from this company without tryin on the shoes in store.
@186bingo2 жыл бұрын
Nah I’ve returned a few pairs to them. They were always accommodating. Maybe yours were already creased before you got them? They ask that you wear them on carpet and not crease them. If they can’t resell them as new, they can’t accept the return.

I have been to this store many times. On my first visit, I purchased two pairs. Since then, I have bought only some of the Saphir products they sell there. Cobbler Union shoes are built on narrow lasts. I’m just a bit wide: Cobbler Union shoes get uncomfortable after a few hours. I know that Thomas The Manager says the shoes are built on a standard D last. No they’re not. They’re built on a narrow D. The styles and colors are mostly quite traditional. You will see a LOT of black and brown captoes and penny loafers. Don’t expect to see a lot of fashion-forward colors or burnishing (although they have a pair of beautiful muted yellow oxfords). Keep this in mind: Cobbler Union pays for promotions like this video. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with that. But don’t think Trenton and Heath are giving you an impartial opinion. Dollar for dollar, you can get much more style and comfort with similarly-priced brands: Carlos Santos, TLB Mallorca, Meermin, JFitzpatrick, and Loake, to name just a few.

Really nice selection but only if your a little or averaged sized guy.
@TrentonHeath4 жыл бұрын
thepowderriverfarrier Yeah, that’s the only downside. They’re currently a bit limited on the widths they offer. Side note: A change in your avatar pic, I see? 😉 We hope all is well!

I'd love to venture into their store. I miss seeing the shoe stores of yesteryear. So, what shoes did you guys add to your own personal collections?
@TrentonHeath4 жыл бұрын
sydney4911 Unfortunately, none on this trip. ☹️ May have to go back down there and spend more time looking. Definitely could have spent hours in there.

J. AULT We said Balmoral because they are/have been a part of their brand line. We weren’t the ones shooting the footage.

Arfan Raza Haha...yeah, I’m the oldest and have always been more of the “I’ll take charge and handle it”. Heath has always been the creative, easy going type.

Shocked to see you not taking the universal precautions like a 2 metre distance between individuals and even shaking hands during this pandemic of covid 19 don't you care!!

John Goard this was filmed like 2 months ago I think.
@johngoard82724 жыл бұрын
@@calvinthai9527 Didn't know that but even so it seems like we should have been taking precautions a long time ago as far back as January.

John Goard Hindsight is 20/20. No one was even discussing the COVID19 virus, as we are now, back in early February.

@@TrentonHeath Yes I realise that and I did apologise for my misunderstanding and took the video as being put out on the date that it was dated - 4th April so sorry for any bad feelings that I might have caused. By the by I do enjoy your videos and am truly amazed at your workmanship and professionalism.
