You can feel that they’ve been through a huge emotional transition in this interview. You just want to hug them.

My gf turn me on to them in the 8th grade 1983, i was already a budding musician but I was into rock and she was into all this nuwave and different stuff but I've loved them ever since.

I was 13 going on 14 when this interview took place. Thanks for sharing. I remember the end of the 80’s feeling pretty bleak and this album sounding so fresh and optimistic about the dawn of the 90’s and inhabiting the spirit of the 60’s as a sort of an inspiration for that change. Hats off to them for not turning it all in for a dollar like so many people of the counterculture. They really walked it like they talked it, much respect to them.

The B-52’s had a lot of closet introverts :) Cindy, Fred (surprisingly shy and private), Ricky and Chris are all introverts. Kate had to be ALL of the extrovert.

They are closet gays in the rock music business and it's 1990, not 2024, they must control their behavior on events like this. They can't be introverts they used to dressed up and crashing the parties.

@@Mr36O passed in 1985, due to an Aids related illness. The band broke up after that. The album, 'Cosmic Thing', was released in 1989 and was really what they needed to do to get back into their correct headspace. Former drummer in the band, and now guitarist, Keith Strickland was instrumental in getting the band back together. The interviewer is not really that good.
