I am speechless. I am gonna get two of them. The detailing is just incredible, and I love the fact they made a 'new super' version but with the late production turret. Absolutely astonishing, very good set in my opinion. Also I am glad you built this one as well ;)

I'm planning on getting this set soon. It looks great! And the fact this is pretty much the same quality as lego, and is much cheaper is awesome. If this was lego, it would be over $100 easily. Cobi is a great company. Props to them.

Interestingly, porsche had nothing to do with the design of the turret, both turret variants were designed and built by Krupp :)

@@Juhnaaa it's a common misconception, the "Porsche" turret was the pre-production turret with the "henschel" turret being the production version. Any differences between and actual Porsche and henschel vehicle would be in the hull design. The "Porsche" turret was originally designed and produced for the VK45.02 project which was Porsches attempt at mounting the 8.8cm Kw.K. L/56 to an armoured vehicle and was a joint effort between porsche and Krupp, with the hull being designed and built by porsche and the turret by Krupp. This project was cancelled, however a number of turrets had already been produced, so they were mounted to the Henschel hull (the hull of the Tiger 2) and as these turrets were from the Porsche project it was erroneously dubbed the Porsche turret despite being a Krupp design.

A little tidbit of trivia, technically the "Porsche" and "Henschel" designations are wrong. The turrets were both design by Henschel just the "Porsche" turret was designed for the Porsche designed tiger II, A more correct designation to distinguish the 2 would be. PzKpfw. VI Ausf. B (Early) and (Late).

Ich habe den Königstiger von meiner Frau zu Weihnachten bekommen. Heute, also etwas mehr als zwei Monate später, habe ich den Panzer fertig gestellt. Das dies so lange gedauert hat, lag nicht an meiner Faulheit oder Unlust. Ich hatte nämlich leider das Pech dass im zweiten Bauabschnitt über die einzelnen Schritte verteilt mir insgesamt 13 Teile fehlten. Die ersten Fehlteile kamen Mitte Januar. Nachdem diese verbaut waren, fehlten mir einige Schritte weiter, weitere Teile. So habe ich dreimal die fehlenden Teile nachbestellen müssen. Dieses Model hat mich an Cobi Zweifeln lassen. Zum Glück war es bisher das einzigste Model in meiner Sammlung in der ich mich über Fehlteile beschweren kann. Das Model perse finde ich echt klasse. Sehr schöne Details, tolle Bautechniken und die Steinequalität finde ich auch super. Kritisieren kann ich nur die beiden schwarzen Schläuche links und rechts am Heck. Durch das Verbindungsstück stehen mir die Schläuche zu weit ab. Da hätte ich gerne eine andere Lösung. Und die Kettenteile am Turm stören mich. Sieht gut aus. Aber schief anschauen darf man die nicht. Geschweige anfassen. Sonst fallen sie gleich ab und lassen sich nur bedingt leicht anbringen.

the reason why the turret is different is because the older king tiger has a Porsche turret while the new one you just built has a Henschel turret which was used on most of the king tigers
