If someone's not been through the entire 10 year journey in crypto already, this is the episode to listen to. The amount of learnings and alpha that Cobie shares is mind boggling. Keep doing what you guys are doing, the value of this will truly stand out even years later.

@@IWTBF dunno if it's a bait, but he's a young person that grew a very small portfolio into insane wealth. Recognized an opportunity early, played it from a constant position of strenght (even kept a job 'till 2017), not lazy, constantly fishing for inefficiencies and things he could exploit with his acquired knowledge. Constantly posted useful info for dumb followers like me, even though as his following was growing larger it would bring backlash. Built many cool stuff, overall imho had a positive impact on the space, without selling out ever. He is also a nice person from what I got, don't know him personally but on twitter, where it is easier to be dumb angry fucks, I've never seen him bashing anybody for free. I reckon I'm blowing him a bit here, of course I don't always agree with what he says but I respect what he did/does and seeing where he got gives me positive vibes.

Good talk. Regarding L2s: Cobie, early in this episode you talked about how you fudded yourself on Eth because, although you appreciated the long term goals of the chain, you saw how poor it was in the beginning. I think you're doing exactly the same thing now when talking about L2s. The emergence of zkRollups and their work towards generalized zkEVMs is very transparent and they are clearly the fix to the current scaling issue. Just because at this point in time they're not at a point where we can resolve the issue, it doesn't mean they're not the right answer. It's just early.

Some incredibly valuable knowledge / lessons in here. Thanks Cobie. He kinda blew my mind with the "meta game" perspective/strategy-- Tracking news and using TA to catch trending coins is all well and good, but I completely missed out on the scoins and never bothered to look into yield farming even though I kept hearing about it. Also when he said the most successful traders he knows couldn't have done it without the support of their own little groups.... makes perfect sense.

On QuarkCoin, I vaguely remember Max Keiser saying something positive about it. He interviewed Bill Still or something. I even recall a "Max" in the QuarkCoin trollbox all those years back. I think it was only 6 different algos rather than 7 but not like that matters. It was pointless, but I didn't understand what that meant back then either. 😂

Listening back to this after being caught up in the euphoria just shows there is legitimate information out there, problem is like you said, your feed gets overloaded with people pumping their bags, giving bullish thesis etc, even Cathie Wood was in on the BTC pump lmao. I made profit overall but missed out on around 40% because of the insane euphoria going on, glad I averaged out otherwise i'm sure i'd be holding bags and trying to justify it rather than looking at the market objectively. I'll definitely be listening to you guys more and not taking people with a huge follower base as gospel in the next bull run, waiting to buy close to the bottom and follow trends rather than trying to sieve through tonnes of shit to find any real information.

don't you need to be a high level coder/computer scientist to be able to build on protocols? Which Cobie is suggesting to be the better route now, seems pretty inachievable for most of normal people to me. Investing and holding on to projects you think are valuable will still be the best route for 99% of people imo. Loved the podcast btw!

I share a lot of the early times and onwards experiences, and also being a developer. But, 1:44:30 take is off point. I used to think that evm compatibility was paramount. It isn't. User experience is. I bought into ETH early on, ran beta, even completed bounties before main net. And I still stand behind my assumption that user centric apps will move users. For this reason, I use Terra everyday while mining ethereum everyday. Linguistically, Rust is superior as well, and even though I admire Vitalik and Gavin, ethereum opcode cost model and chain design is absolutely not ready at all for todays demanding use cases
