I’ve had my cobra since 1993 and nothing I have done has been done without long planning and caution . You are going to love that car !

I've been upgrading a CMC cobra built in 94. Your work has been in concert with some of mine. I think your doing a fantastic job btw. I wanted to let you know that the Le Man' gas cap being so large is going to interfere with your trunk when you open it. It will certainly limit its range of travel. Best to do a dry run with the trunk installed and check operation. I would mount that Le Mans cap so the hose/filler tubing is close as possible to the bulkhead.

Yeah, I was afraid of that! I did consider that the gas cap would interfere, slightly with the trunk opening to full extension. I do think that the trunk will open, more than enough to get the job done, however. It's not like the trunk has this large quantity of storage space, or that I will even need it, on my short drives on sunny days!! lol They did run the large Le Mans gas caps on the 289 FIA cars and some 427 race cars in that location. I'm sure that opening the trunk wasn't even a consideration, though!! Please feel free to comment and critique my work! I am honestly looking for any insight and help that you could provide!! Than ks!

@@Metalcop5150 You may be able to move forward a smidgen and the trunk may have full range just about. If at all possible; you would have to see if you have a little wiggle room with your filler tube/hose to bulkhead. I have the Le Mans cap and the trunk hits when raised fully. Another possible consideration depending on your tastes is future fitment of a Le mans or other type hardtop and if that cap would interfere. I've been considering such and I don't have a definitive answer. Your dash, switches and gauges look outstanding btw as well everything else.

lyle place Thanks for the kind words!! It really means a lot. I double checked the fitment of the trunk. It looks like the hidden hinge will hit the trunk lip well before the lid itself hits the gas cap. We’ll see!! I’m confident though, that it will work. I NEVER plan on running a top!! Lol I do want a tonneau though...

Lo siento, no tengo el manual en PDF. 'Street Beasts' ha estado fuera de servicio durante años, por lo que sus manuales están obsoletos y ya no están disponibles.

Are you concerned that the gas cap filler body is going to interfere with the truck? It looks really close on camera.
@Metalcop51504 жыл бұрын
I do believe that the trunk is going to hit the gas cap, preventing it from opening fully. However, I think that the trunk will still open 90-95% of the way to full extension. Stay tuned, I'll let you know!! lol

Metalcop I just thought whatever paint you put on there was going to get chipped away. Your builds are pretty precise so I thought maybe you had a plan for protecting everything 😉. Love the videos!! Keep them coming!!

What gas pedal did you use? Any info appreciated.
@Metalcop51507 ай бұрын
I custom made that pedal. I took a piece of 4” steel pipe and cut a section out of it. I bent it to a bit less of a radius. I metal finished it and painted it, then put a piece of grip tape (like for skateboards/almost sandpaper) on it. I made it to look specifically like an original pedal. I can send you a pic of my “inspirational” pedal if you’d like? On my new Factory 5 Cobra I used a custom billet pedal from: www.performancepedals.com/collections/ford-billet-pedal-sets/products/ford-explorer-billet-pedal-covers-performance-pedals Hope this helps!!

What gas pedal assembly did you use, I should have been more specific. I have nothing for a gas pedal yet. Thank you

It’s from Shell Valley. Accurate replica of the original Shelby ones. It comes raw steel, I painted mine. Works well with a carbureted or throttle body (EFI) setup. If you’re using Fox parts or similar, I’d do something else. www.shellvalley.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=541/mode=prod/prd541.htm
