COBRA Audio Box

The COBRA Audio Box is a stand-alone wireless audio playing device for playing music in perfect sync with your 18M firing modules. Simply plug the audio box into your sound system and start your script on the 18R2.
In addition to providing audio syncronization, the audio box is fully wireless, with the same range as the 18M modules (1,500+ ft. line of site). This allows the shooter to be in the best position for firing the show, and the audio box to be in the best position for playing the audio. In addition, the Audio Box uses a lite digitial signal to control the audio. Compared to beefy time code feeds that can be unreliable and require a constant transmission, the lite signal is very resiliant to low signal environments as the audio box will continue operation even if signal is lost.
You can also use the Audio Box to add wireless COBRA 18M firing modules to existing systems (i.e PyroDigital, FireOne, Pyromate, etc...) that accept a SMPTE, FSK, or other time code feed. Simply plug the output of the Audio Box to the 3rd party firing system, start your 18R2, and the 18M firing modules fire together with the firing modules of the 3rd party firing system controlled by the Audio Box output time code signal.
You can control as many Audio Boxes using a single 18R2 remote. Each Audio Box can play the same, or different MP3 audio files allowing for a low of flexibility and creativity with your audio design. Any questions, please email [e-mail] or call me at 518-222-7410. We are happy to help!
The system is produced by COBRA, a US manufacturer based out of upstate, NY. The COBRA18 is expandable up to 1,800 unique cues and includes bi-directional communication between the firing modules and remote.

Coming from an Audio Engineering background and being a pyro, this makes me incredibly giddy. Question: Does the audio signal come out of all outputs simultaneously? I could use the XLR adapter to send the audio into a channel mixer before going into the system. However, I'd like the ability to have a monitor return channel while also playing through the stereo system. The ability to utilize an equalizer is nice (hence using an outboard mixer). I just like to cover all of my bases without having to carry so much equipment. Also, a digital graphic equalizer (one similar to a fender mustang amp if you've ever used one) would be a fantastic focus for adding an LED screen interface (like you mentioned) to the audio box. Just add the gain faders in the same system. You could just use a free spinning knob for selection that can press to select and just have an back button. Boom. Audio box has become a one stop shop for everything audio/pyro :)

Scott, the video is excellent -- well done and high quality. One thing I have noticed is that you did not cover this: "If you press and hold the Audio TEST button, the audio will play for as long as the button is held. When released, the audio will stop." Besides that minor thing, you covered it all - like I said -- very well done. It is ready to go!

You actually don't have to hold the test button. When you press it, the audio will play until you press TEST again.

CANT FIND the audio box format / naming video - promised to cover LATER - ITS LATER !! need a link and please differentiate differences in formats between various firmware....... if that video has been made I can't find it......I'm using csc to avoid EXCEL hetero and needing a computer class to understand header row or hetero lol......... Please do a finished ''cobra script creator '' with steps to FINISH..........the dl for 18r2 & audio box of the finished script . I'd also like to see 2 scripts (different ) and steps to format and dl to audio box & 18r2.......... STILL WAITING ...... ITS TIME to start for 4th show and i'm DREADING trying to guess what i'm doing wrong........BEEN PATENT ! follow up with the video mentioned @ 4;40 If you did where is the link ? Will the audiobox have FM out capiblites, In otherwords can I tell my show patrons please tune to FM 123.4 for example to hear the music this way I don't have to have a DJ or sound system

nick svaluto currently it does not and I don't see that happening. Sense this is meant as a player and controll head to the PA set up at the event. You will need to find a FM transmitter and feed the audio box into it. I hope it helps. :)

Doesn't the fuse on the firework take around 4 seconds to lite so it will not be in sync.

Used this for the first time this year. Worked great! Highly recommended and I only have a backyard consumer show. I had a lot of timed effects that are always difficult to get timed perfect when audio is from separate system. Audio Box combined with Show Creator software provided excellent results. You can see the results in my show video from July 3rd. Used a lot of fan slice cakes with firewire initiator ematches and timing was right on.
