Great video. While I would never keep snakes, the educational value is enormous. I have my 8 year daughter watch to learn about them. She ask more questions than you can imagine. Keep up good work. If you have not covered it, what are the pros and cons of live feeding vs frozen thrawed?
@VenomCentral3 жыл бұрын
I feed live when it's needed for the snake. Some snakes will be obstinate about switching over to frozen thawed. Frozen thawed is safer, 1st for the snake-- rodents will put up a good fight and bite and scratch the snake. When I breed healthy enriched snakes for labs, they need to be in prime condition and stress free so they produce and provide good venom. And a lot of them are hard to get, why chance feeding live and potentially losing its life to a rodent bite .. my snakes don't know the difference if you ever watched our Fangs in your Face, they juice them and bite several times trying to dispatch the prey. If they are going to be long term captive then there always needs to be a proper food source. The vLive rodents I breed myself, because the pet stores sell them but they are sleazy and not at all reliable to be healthy. So as long as there's a trusted source for frozen thawed and the rodents are clean and parasite free, it's a better way to feed the 250+ I feed. Thanks for watching and sharing your great comment and stay tuned for more ..🐍👍🙏 so happy to hear your daughter enjoys the channel! That's awesome!

Ive had a snake 'escape' but not notifying authorities irresponsible. I lost an 8 foot diamond python took a few days to find him - in a kitchen drawer snuggled up nicely. Any exotic animal escaping generates sensational journalism - which isnt responsible either. 100% agree owners need to take accountability

Fantastic video with amazing snakes (love the cobras !!!) and profound education how to keep snakes & people safe! The perfect example how to keep venomous. Last week, just 5 minutes from where I live, police found out that a clown kept 12 venomous snakes (strictly forbidden here in Austria) in his unsecured living room. He had cobras, spitting cobras, neotropical rattle snakes and an inland taipan. The inland taipan was kept in a box WITHOUT a lock. The "clown" had just put something on top of the box to keep it "closed". It was half way open! Very nervous police had to seal all the boxes with duct tape to get them to a reptile zoo. To make things worse, the "clown" lived in an apartment block with 50 other people. Imagine the snakes escaping there.......

@@VenomCentral There seems to be a big black market here for venomous snakes. Some time ago police stopped a man at Vienna airport who (returning from Asia) had 40 venomous snakes in his baggage. X-Rays showed the snakes. He wasn´t the brightest bulb..... Had young Cobras and Bamboo Pit Vipers. Sadly every year they stop various transports of illegal reptiles - often dead and half-dead animals due to horrible transportation conditions - such a crime!

I end up watching a lot of snake videos. My want is to destroy them all , even though I know the ecosystems of the world cannot do without them. My interest really peaked when I lived in South Georgia, which is home to every genus of venomous snake in the US. My goal was to be able to identify them. Since then my interest has been to familiarize myself with every notable venomous snake in the world. I have learned a bunch from your videos. I find a lot of other KZbin herpetologist either careless or just simply annoying. Yet, this is definitely not the case with your presentations. They are informative, well done; and as with this video , stress the absolute necessity of care by which the public is protected. We do not need an invasive population of deadly snakes breeding in North America such as already occurred with Pythons in Florida. Thank you.

If you are in the US you will get a BB-IND from the FDA for approval to bring in to the US (and the use of) antivenin from other countries which if not a drug approved by FDA, is called "experimental". It's a lot of paperwork but FDA is very helpful in walking you through it. Then finding the facilities that will sell (sometimes it is minimum quantity that are large) ICP in Costa Rica makes every type of antivenin but most of it is produced and predetermined to go to the 3rd world countries where the need is great. It's a lot of trial and error and footwork! 👍🐍

that asshole who let his zebra cobra escape should be excommunicated from the reptile keeping community and he should be banned from attending reptile expos by the venomous reptile keeping community in my personal opinion
@Alls103 жыл бұрын
That's crazy in NC, they should address the issue and ban TikTok lol hope y'all are having a great 4th.

Thanks so much Austin! Crazy. Can't make this stuff up! It's a real egomaniac that doesn't care how their negligence affects those around them and now, the entire venomous community. Another day in paradise! Lol 💪🙏👍🐍 Thanks for your support as always! Stay safe on this 4th of July weekend!

I’d bet money he doesn’t have antivenin for any of his Venomous either.
@VenomCentral3 жыл бұрын
👍🐍 If he had antivenin, then in March when he was bitten the South Carolina zoo wouldn't have had to exhaust their current supply to save his life .. so you're probably correct!

WE HAVE COPPERHEADS AROUND OUR APARTMENT BUILDING AND ONE OF THE LOCAL CATS THAT COME AROUND OUR APARTMENT TO EAT AND DRINK CAME AROUND ONE DAY WITH HIS BACK LEFT PAW AAS BIG AS THE PALM OF MY HAND AND I COULDN'T IMAGINE A WASP OR YELLOW JACKET CAUSING THIS MUCH SWELLING, BUT THE SWELLING NEVER SPREAD TO THE REST OF ITS BODY SO WE ARE STILL WONDERING?? COULD YOU SHED A LITTLE LIGHT ON THIS SITUATION?

We need herpetologist such as yourself because snakes were considered Divine creatures and thus if you look at Christianity the sign of the snake means healing
