Chozen was my favourite character this season. He was very funny yet so determined. I nearly cried when I thought he died because his character was so good. I then celebrated when he stepped out the car.

I knew he was not dead for this reason: An exception was made for the Vietnam scenes because they took place during an ACTUAL war and if they do a young Miyagi prequel there might be some deaths shown in World War 2. Killing is EXPECTED in an actual war (even if it is just prisoners in a war camp). However, aside from that special exception nobody has EVER been killed in this franchise all the way back to 1984. Severe and ALMOST fatal injuries yes, ATTEMPTED murders yes (never successful) but the ONLY deaths in the franchise are from age or illness, never the result of violence.

Only little complaint that I have is that they could have given Mike Barnes a little more action in the final fight, if he wasn`t knocked out for 90% of the fight and Johnny wouldn`t have to face 4 or 5 master senseis alone, tanking so much damage, with the power of alcohol, fatherly love and plot armour alone, it would be a bit more realistic and more fun.

Kreese being dead was something that took me by surprise upon seeing he tricked everyone with some lame jello gag, and silver losing to larusso so easily, they barely gave him a chance…silver imo was the best actor/character in the show

If you go back and watch the flashback seen you see kreese and Kim have a moment, I have a theory that kim always preferred kreese over silver hence why as soon as she landed in the valley she asked where he was. I think next season kim will save kreese from the law and they will work together to win the international tournament. Feels good now that all the characters that had rivals are working together now, I also hope that they stop with the relationship drama. Was annoying seeing Sam and Miquel/ Tory and Robby have relationship troubles again. My only issue with this season other than that it was good

That is a great theory. I wondered why they made that escape with Kreese: He is innocent but breaking from jail is punishable. Having Kim grand daughter help kreese would make much more sense. I personnally wished Kreese would redempt himself and after that Johny and Daniel would let him run CK again, but I was wrong !

I thoroughly enjoyed this season. My only real gripe is we didn't get to see Barnes fight as much at the end. Would have loved for him and Johnny to battle all the sensais. Or at least get a shot at Silver. But other than that was awesome

I enjoyed this season from beginning to the end. I started watching it when I came home from work around 1am and feel good about doing it lol. I did get some sleep but I couldn't wait to wake back up and watch this which I did. I'm glad Silver finally went down, and I'm looking forward to Season 6.

I love how they did right by the even minor charactors. Devon was cool, Chozen was done really well, and finally Stingray was done so well I actually wish he had more story arc.

We need a season 6 definitely! Great ending, but I want to see a full season of everyone finally getting along. I would love to see that new dynamic of Sam and Tory and Miguel and Robby and Johnny, Chozen and Daniel all just bonding likely they did this season. Plus we don’t know what Kim and Kreese have up their sleeves, so I for sure know there is going to be a season 6 and maybe even 7. But after that, I think the story is done because this season more than concluded the story. They just have some loose ends to tie up with Kim and Kreese.

Great season. The ending didn't have any cliffhangers though, though your mileage may differ. This is how you end a show, not a season. I was expecting Mike Barnes to confront Silver at the very end and have that lead into season 6 with them actually fighting. Now the writers are going to have to figure out a way to start off season 6. Will Silver buy his way out of prison? And if he does, then what? What will Kreese do now that he's a fugitive from the law? He can't just simply open a new dojo. Who's going to be the main villain now? Kim Da-Eun? She seemed disappointed in Silver and all his students left, so no more Cobra Kai dojos and students? Or rivalries? The only thing to look forward to in season 6 is the international tournament, and now it seems like nobody's in Cobra Kai anymore.

If you remove the Kreese plot twist, the ending felt like a show finale, every single issue has been resolved, no more rivalry between the youth, Silver in Jail, Daniel(The "Chozen" One), Johnny, Mike & Chozen are all basically friends, not too much left to do in the next season, but the writers are crazy talented, I'm sure they will come up with something special.

Kreese staged his prison escape not knowing that he had recently been exonerated. Problem is escaping from prison is a crime all by itself (and he beat up some guards too) so even IF he is exonerated of the original crime (beating up Stingray) won't he end up in prison for a long time just for that?

I read an article once about a guy who escaped from prison but when he was exonerated of his original crime he was given credit for time served on the escape conviction since the sentence for that was shorter than his original sentence and since he should not have been in prison in the first place (innocent) they just retroactively counted the time he served towards the escape. Makes me wonder if in real life had the movie FUGITIVE starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones happened would the main character have had to go back to prison to serve a sentence for the crime of escaping? That all being said if a person really is exonerated and the escape becomes the ONLY crime on the person's record and the ONLY reason they are in prison then its kind of a TAUTOLOGY, like being famous for being famous. In prison for trying to get out of prison (but that ONLY).

I think it's time that Daniel learns from Barnes, grow a pair and let go of Cobra Kai wheter they stay or they leave. And it's time that a new villain gets total control of the Dojo, someone like a Scott Adkins type of villain maybe, more harsh than Silver and Kreese

MMM. Scott Adkins would be a great addition and a great leader. The writers should even consider letting him be Geddes, since he is also a hardcore military like Kreese and Silver. Cobra Kai then would be on a total different level, and Miyagi Do would feel what pain really is !

Best season so far ! - Really loved Mike Barnes redemption at the beginning of the season, still feel meh towards the end however. Overall positive - I enjoyed seeing the characters grow....like almost all of the characters in the show grew up like I wanted. Johny has evolved so much. Daniel too. The youngsters too, like Robby and Tory. What I hope for season 6: - Bring Julie Pierce (and maybe boyfriend). I don't care if ennemy or ally, bring her back. - No more drama between the OG kids (tory, robby, miguel, sam, hawk) . They're on the same side now. - I wish to see that international event and spend more than 2 episodes on it

Season 6 will likely be the series finale with John Kreese and Johnny Lawrence uniting to take on Terry Silver in a duel to the death with ownership of the Cobra Kai dojo on the line. Cobra Kai will dissolve to become part of Miyagi Fang or an independent dojo. Johnny and Carmen will get married, have a baby boy or girl.

The Global Competition kinda makes me think that this show might have the possibility to go beyond the valley and Okinawa. Not to mention, Will Smith is an executive producer so, yeah. There is a slim possibility of us getting Mr. Han and Dre Parker and getting Jackie Chan in this show will certainly blow up online. It would've been interesting to see Silver win and Cobra Kai reaching to China and these taking one good look at this cursed form of martial arts and go "Aw, hell naw". Other than that, the seasons have kinda been adapting each film with S1-S2 being the first film, S3 being the second film, and S4-S6 being the third film, and S5 referencing to the animated series. I can certainly see them skipping over The Next Karate Kid and going straight to the 2010 because one, there is no need and two, the film is an awful straight to DVD cashgrab.

Johny, Chozen, Mike, Kreese, Silver...And of course the "Karate Kid" himself. Miyagi is missed, to be sure. But this is hands down the best "revived/sequel/nostalgia show they have ever done. And you can tell the OG are having fun being back in their roles, and that really makes their acting shine again.

It's time for everyone to face a new challenge. And the world tournament is the perfect challenge. All the personal rivalries as well as fighting in the All Valley tournament has become redundant at this point.

I think so too. It feels like they're building up to a theme about legacies for the next season. Kreese's legacy being the founder of Cobra Kai, Kim Da-Eun's legacy carrying on her grandfather's style, the legacy of Miyagi-Do via Daniel and Chozen, and that of Johnny as well. Season 6 feels like the best place to tie all these storylines off and secure each character's place in history, so to speak.

Johnny and Kreese still has to reconcile their relationship. Kreese really does love Johnny like a son, and Johnny has to learn to forgive Kreese. I think Cobra Kai is Kreese's legacy to pass off to his son Johnny. Johnny obtaining Cobra Kai brings the series full circle and is a nice way to conclude the show. Cobra Kai under Johnny would be an honorable Cobra Kai. Plus Johnny needs to make a living, and karate is all he knows, so this is how I think things will go.

But I'm like you, I'm just not sure how that will happen after the events of season 5. I do believe Season 6 can be great but after that I don't know.

Jon Hurwitz and Ralph Macchio kinda confirmed that season 6 could be happening bc I think I remember seeing a tweet where one of them said that some scenes for S6 had been filmed already but I am curious as to how things in S6 could play out bc now that Myagi-Fang has registered for this international tournament (I forgot the name of it) they don’t really have a rival dojo to fight against since all the students at Cobra Kai’s flagship dojo have all left.

Correct, apparently there was some scenes that they thought would be better in a later season. They do in fact have an endgame to this series.

Season 6 will likely be the series finale with a possible "duel to the death" with John Kreese and Johnny Lawrence against Terry Silver. Terry will get killed in the hands of Johnny Lawrence, Cobra Kai will fade into history and become part of Miyagi Fang.

Chozen was a show stealer, my god he had me dying every episode.. i wish they kept the show with Johnny as the main focus as they started in season 1. They instead made it all about daniel again.. also unrealistic how easily Silver fell at the end of the final episode... for a season 6 they should have had most of the cobra kais stay loyal to silver imo .. it could open it up for silver to still have something to hold on to and be defensive of for when kreese returns

Great review. I thought the female Sensei was so over the top, she could have been a Bond (or Austin Powers) villain! Still, I found the season very entertaining and totally agree with other posters on here that Mike Barnes should have gotten more fighting scenes and even more regular scenes in general. He just seemed tacked on with no real direction, like the prodcuers said 'what should we do with this guy?'

What about the theme of Kreese scape, "I did it my way" from Sinatra. It felt like a goodbye. On the other hand now that he's exonarated he could very well team up with Kim or go back to Korea with her. I have a hunch this could be the series finale, prolonging more seasons I believe could be detrimental, just my humble opinion. Like said here, there are no clifhangers, Kreese said he lost his best student, Lawrence, there's no point of comming back now that Cobra Kai dojo is worse than it has ever been. I know we want to see more but series finale would be the best in the long run.

There will be a season 6 for next year. Netflix confirmed it a few weeks ago. I can't wait. When do we see Julie Pearce?? (the Next Karate Kid) I loved how they added Mike Barnes and Jessica Andrews (Daniel's love interest in Karate Kid 3) It shows how his wife and Daniel got together. She was related to Jessica Andres and they met somehow in their past. Such great writing! But Kreese is an escaped Convict. How can he move around as the police will be after him??

Be nice if we saw some other styles than just different karate forms. I'd love to see some Judo in this series. A style focused on striking, deflecting, and being agile vs a style that relies on keeping your balance, a strong center, and locking down, grappling, and throwing your opponent for maximum damage. Bc in judo matches. You don't get points for landing blows. You get points for successful throws, takedowns and locks. And I think forcing the opponent to tap out during a submission hold.

It was actually crazy how good this season was. I don't even think the plot was far fetched at all (Not that anyone was saying that anyways) Silver is an international criminal. It makes sense that the stakes would be as high as they were.

For the Sekai Taiki, in my opinion, it shouldn’t be a point based tournament but be a full contact tournament where you have to knock your opponent out. It would challenge the morals of Miyagi Do Karate but would be excellent for Cobra Kai since they don’t show mercy. Ur as Mr Miyagi said in one of the movies and it was shown at the second All Valley Tournament in Season 4 of the climax, it talks about how the tree finds its own way to grow just like how Karate fighters find their own way to grow. This could work if a good story is executed though. This probably won’t happen.

Best season! Unbelievable. And it proved the new character unlocked joke. You know when in a video game you turn a villain into a play able, well they normally become weaker. That was definitely this season. So many epic moments. I can’t wait until the next season. We were gifted with 2 seasons this year so I’m not expecting 6 until the end of 2023

Well Stingray's telling the truth that Silver was the one who nearly killed would get Kreese out, but the assaulted an officer and resisting arrest would be reduced to a minimum. But remember it was all Kreese's fault that he brought Silver back and had keep on the guilt act for what happened in Nam

Next season prediction: Kreese comes out having found his true self and alliances with johny and Daniel under the name of Cobra Kai. Every student from allvalley are competing together in order to win the international tournament and be recognized as a whole. Silver rots in jail slowly losing it (yep even more).

I think a good idea for season 6 regarding Krease is that his girlfriend(doll face) isn't really dead. I believe that would be the only way he could change his way and become good since her death created cobra Kai and started Krease on that path!

Barnes is the only one out of the three who is a national karate champion. So he has experience facing elite level competition. The kids are used to fighting local competition and will need to be ready to face the best in the world.

As someone that has worked security in a much less secure setting the key card for the doctor would not have worked! The moment she tried to leave the building or even go through a secure door and realized she didn't have her badge it would at the very very least been reported and deactivated. In a situation like this at a detention center that whole place would have been on lockdown and the whole building swept and tossed so Kreese escaping is not only unlikely but pretty much impossible!

Kreese is either the unluckiest or dumbest characters in Cobra Kai. At the time he is no longer going to be implicated in the aggravated assault against Sting-Ray, he escapes from prison and is now a wanted fugitive who will be hunted down by the full force of law enforcement. While he believed that he would indeed spend the rest of his life in prison, at least in prison he had 3 square meals a day and had respect from the other inmates and from the prison guards. Now he will chased down in the most brutal manner. He will have no choice but to leave the USA but where will he go and what will he do?

There are a lot of people who are predicting that season 6 might be the end of the show, but I don't thnk so. I think the series will go on for two more seasons. Why do I say that? Well, it's true that we have most of the main characters story arcs almost wrapped up, but there are a few loose ends that need to be tied up, and I think we're going to need two more seasons for it to happen properly. We're all saying that Kreese will be season 6's main villain, and I agree with that. But I don't think he'll be alone. Besides Master Kim's granddaughter and Silver (yeah, because I doubt he'll end up in jail, given that he's rich and he can hire the best lawyers), I think one more villain will show up and make some real damage, straight out fo Mexico... I think Miguel's dad will make a comeback (and before you ask, how's that going to happen, let us remember that when they went to Mexico pick up Miguel, Johnny and Robbie got into a fight at that club, because Miguel's dad men thought they were FBI agents... now, if I was a drug kingpin, and supposedly the FBI came knocking at my door, I would want to know who those agents were and make them pay. A little investigation could lead him to find out that Johnny isn't an FBI agent, but that he's a sensei and that he's dating Carmen. Hector felt betrayed by Carmen, and he's the kind of man who doesn't like to get deceived). So, yeah, I think he could become a major threat, and even allying himself with Kreese.
