Considering that Kreese was framed, he would have been released from prison eventually with Silver being caught and Stingray able to testify. So if he just waited a little longer, he wouldn't have needed to break out.

Personal pet peeve as someone who was in a fraternity: that type of hazing in fraternities is mostly just a TV and movie thing. It definitely still happens but is pretty rare now. It was definitely common up through the 80's, but the majority of national fraternities came down hard on that kind of thing in the 90's. Little bits of "defensible" hazing (i.e., things that were not immediately obvious as hazing but that really were designed to do the same sort of thing as hazing and which were not really defensible if examined) lingered for a long time, but If a national fraternity org or a university found out a chapter was doing something like what was pictured here, they would get shut down fast today. There is very little tolerance for it anymore.

I think the reason they had the Japanese guy be so old is the same reason he made Kreese go into the cave... They're referencing old movies as a love letter to them: Kung Fu Theater and Kill Bill always had the ultra old master who was old in the flashback scenes, but was somehow still alive 40 years later. haha. And The Empire Strikes Back is Clearly referenced by the wizened old master sending the learner into the cave scene. Why? To confront the person he must face to achieve his goals and becomes the person he needs to be. Which Could be hinting that Kreese will choose "The Light Side" in the end. After all, it's far easier to kill a hallucination than someone you care deeply about, and for all his shenanigans, Kreese loves Johnny as a son. I laughed so hard when you guys couldn't remember Sam's name, ragged on how old the Japanese master was, and how the extras were tired of doing the scene because the actor kept forgetting the lines. That wasn't great. Thank you both for the fun reaction. I look forward to the rest

I genuinely think Hillary Swank should be in part 2 or 3 of season 6 of Cobra Kai only because she interacted with and was Miyagi's student. It only makes sense. That's what I think. But we'll see how it plays out.

Great reaction to the first two episodes you two. 😊 Episode 6x01: One of my favorite episodes of the first half. Just seeing how life in the Valley has calmed down after Terry Silver's arrest and Kreese escaping from jail. I wish that they had kept the "Miyagi Fang" dojo name. A combination of both Daniel and Johnny's dojo's. It would've gone great with the new "Miyagi Do" patch they have, the eagle on top of the Bonzi tree. Love the friendly sparring fight between Johnny and Chozen at the end of the episode. Episode 6x02: Really liked the young Kreese flashback scene at the beginning. The college fight scene was very well choreographed. The scenes with Kreese in the cave were so tripy. Definitely gave Luke on the planet Dagoboa from "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" vibes. Those were also some great scenes with Kreese. And loving Johnny working at LaRusso Auto. Looking forward to the next reaction. 😊

kreese's captain got a letter to Kreese. I guess he read first and never gave it to Kreese. It stated she was killed in a head on collision I believe from a drunk driver. But in Vietnam Kreese never knew. Not sure if it'll be shown again another flashback. Like he found out while in Nam later. Or when he returns home and then finds out.

On the movie front, you remembered correctly about the combined movie. It comes out next May. It was originally later this year, but they pushed it back so Cobra Kai could wrap up before it comes out. There is no Cobra Kai movie coming though. The team behind the show has no involvement in the movie and have said the show doesn't set anything up for it. It's just the next thing Daniel does after this.

"Hilary Swank's" movie was the fourth, not the third and it was called "The Next Karate Kid". I wonder if you've watched all of original three + this one, or maybe even the 2010 "The Karate Kid (Jackie Chan's +Jaden Smith's) that is actually "The Kung Fu Kid" as it is called in China, and it's proper name. Kreese is in Korea, at the moment, not Japan.

You keep talking about Kreese should be in prison, but I guess you forgot that he was framed by Silver, and shouldn't have been there in the first place. Of course, I'm sure there would still be legal issues over him breaking out, innocent of his charges or not, but whatever. Maybe time passed and that got worked out. And speaking of legal issues this is really where I have a problem with how the end of the last season has panned out. 1. You just can't (legally) take a bunch of minors and break into a rival dojo and hack their system to get incriminating evidence against the sensei, who rigged a tournament. 2. You (and a couple other trained karate experts) can't (legally) break into a guy's house and assault him and his guests. I don't care how "justified" your intentions are, or who are the good guys/bad guys, a judge in a court of law is not gonna let those felony actions go without consequences. He/she won't give a damn about your karate rivalry and/or who's right or wrong. The LAW just doesn't work that way. On an unrelated side note, I never cared for Hawk's spiked mohawk hair, but what the hell is going on with it this season? Fan or not, it looks totally fake and stupid as hell this season. Like, you can tell it's just a spiked wig/weave or whatever. Almost like it's just glued on or something. Did their budget get cut to the point where they just couldn't make his hair look real anymore? Did he lose a bet or something? I always thought it was a little lame, but with how it looks this season, it's downright laughably ridiculous.
