It’s more about the better written character. Miguel and Tory were way better written than other characters, especially Sam and Robby were written so horribly it’s hard not to hate Sam and Robby is just boring/packed with unnecessary drama. Same goes for Johnny being more popular than Daniel. The writers are obviously going to end the series with the fan favourite character (Miguel by a LONG shot)

Plus I don’t think Miguel has a better arc than Robby cause honestly Miguel’s story low key felt finished to me once he won the tournament, got paralyzed, recovered, then got his get back at his rival, became friends with him, met his father and reconciled with Sam. What more is there for him to prove honestly, he’s got everything he’s wanted no matter the struggle or misunderstanding except for the college thing. Robby has went through a lot as well, 16 years without a stable parental figure, learning to find himself, to losing it all, going to juvie, almost letting hatred take over to finally reconciling with everyone even the ones who did him wrong in return and finally getting a chance to prove he deserves to be a champion too as much as Tory, Miguel, Hawk, Johnny. All of them went through hardships and won a tournament but not him for some odd reason. So his arc doesn’t feel completed. I can agree on Tory being better written cause she still has baggage left unresolved.

I think the writers are trying to have Miguel mirror Daniel from the original trilogy. Daniel also won two tournaments. Robby will essentially be Johnny from the first movie where he loses his last tournament, but instead of Dwelling on it and letting it ruin his life like Johnny, he will live a successful life afterwards.

Daniel was headbutted and seconds later he saw Kwon with the knife going towards Axel, he may have fainted then and dreamed of the tragic outcome and everyone perplexed. Then Daniel wakes up and realizes that in fact Kwon only cut his hand, ironically his fist. So that focus on Tory's mother's clenched fist would be a harbinger of what was to come.

My only problem with Miguel possibly being the Cobra Kai captain is it’s kind of low key cheating in a sense. Even though he’s Cobra Kai’s new captain and everyone is wearing the CK gi, if I was in one of the other dojos I would’ve been like wtf wasn’t they just miyagi do the other day how they switch over cause in the inside the dojo footage it shows Robby, Sam and Miguel in miyagi do gis. The creators have said that Cobra Kai is unpredictable. So, all this talk, leaks, photos, predictions on yours and other Cobra Kai channels mean nothing. Cobra Kai dojo must die. It did for 34 years, From KK3 to Cobra Kai Season 1. Real cobras life expectancy is 20-30 years. Unless eaten by a predator. Cobra Kai Sensei's, fighting style, philosophy, students have led to direct and indirect consequences. Near deaths, deaths, broken bones, bitter rivalries, destruction of public/private property, revenge, home invasion, misunderstandings, expensive doctor/hospital bills, jail time, hatred, division, anger, bitterness, love triangles, bullying, cruelty, dojo takeovers, cheating in tournaments, etc. Besides other things. Johnnie just starting to redeem himself, Why would he revive Cobra Kai? A lot of negativity come from there. He doesn't need a reminder. He's getting on broad with Miyagi Do. Wearing the gi.
