Not a solar unit, power cord needed, "Wireless" WiFi signal, allows the monitor to be anywhere in our home. Nothing professional going on here and normally the cable hole can go (unseen) behind the camera base. I run the power cable to front over hang making it easier to pull thru the attic floor. Inside the doorway my ceiling ramps up from 8' to 12'. This video is just a guy (buffoon) having fun sharing home grown video's for family and friends. We bought this affordable camera system so we can answer the front door without actually being there while in our underwear.... Enjoy my friends.!!

Yeah, I was wondering why you didn't put the camera cable right behind the camera. Thanks for the explanation! Oh, quick question: I'm thinking of getting this for my inlaws (they were robbed recently) because it's easy to use, easy to set up (for me!) and would meet their needs. Anyway, I see that the warranty is only 90 days which, let's be honest, is pretty lame (can't you do better than that, Harbor Freight/Cobra?). Do they offer an extended service plan for this system? Can you help me out? How much movement does each camera have when. Setting up ? When you have more than one camera set up does it switch to each camera every few seconds? Couldn't tell 100% but are these motion activated cameras? Can these be hooked up to home network? Is there a USB port? Are these wireless to the base unit? If so what's the distance?
@PappysCorner6 жыл бұрын
You can either view all cameras at once or toggle to view one camera. All cameras have motion detection. Wireless signal to monitor 150ft. indoors or 450ft. outside. USB can be plugged from monitor to wireless router and use with smart phone from anywhere there's WiFi.... Thank you for the commentary and corner stop.!!

I went ahead and purchased a set of these camera, and I have a question when I mounted the camera on the left side of my home the antenna gets in the way with the base, this is a not too good, the antenna should be put on top of the camera or away from turning the camera, what can I do in this matter?
@PappysCorner6 жыл бұрын
Hay.! Thank you for the corner stop... I'm not sure what to tell ya cause if you loosten the camera's lock washer you can move it about pretty good as I remember... With a bit of finagling maybe you can get the antenna to tip out as you prefer... It may not be an issue for the signal.?..!!??.......... Thank you for the corner comment.!!

A couple days ago, when I went to the Playback section, on the green bars from left to right at the bottom, it would show in a different color (yellowish?) parts where there was motion detected. All I had to do was click on the yellow parts to see what motion was recorded. Now the recordings are there, like normal, all green, but there are no yellow sections showing me that motion was detected at that time, so I can click on it and view the motion recorded at that time.
@PappysCorner6 жыл бұрын
I did not notice that feature, thanks...you have told me something I never noticed. Is that while using the monitor or using your smart phone?
@butchbridges16 жыл бұрын
When using my PC. I loved the feature. Like if it shows a yellowish 2 minute section on the green bar, all I had to do was click on it, and see who was walking through.

I found my problem. I looked in CAPTURE and CAPTURE SETTINGS and made sure the bottom row of yellow rectangles from left to right were turned ON for every day of the week, monday-sunday. Now regardless of what day/night there is activity, the bar graph shows yellow rectangles at that time, and I just click on it to see who it was.

do the cameras have Motion sensor build into it as I notice it has record times listed all so what is the voltsge to each camera from its power supply what is the voltage to the display unit as well from its power supply are they 12 volts andis it AC or DC to the units The reason I ask if 12 volts DC then you could power them from a Deep cycle battery if the main power ever is lost and one of the questions was could you use them in a RV if its 12 volts dc it would be no trouble to midfield the power connector to the units and run them off of you RV battery as some computers routers are used 12 volts dc from the power converter in homes and could be power from a deep cycle battery i took a look at one HP computer connector and found it seems to have 2 or 3 power inputs at 18 volts DC if remember right and look at using a 12 volt and one 6 volt battery system to run a laptop computer without wasting all that power in stepping up 12 volts dc to 115 ac and then back down to 18 volts DC Thanks love the video

Thank you for the corner stop and commentary. What you are pondering sounds feasible to me. Both plug to AC house outlets although the monitors power rating is 5VDC/2A and the cameras are 9VDC/600mA. So yea it converts to DC.
