This would be a great cobra command outpost for the terrodrome.
@shanehai26992 жыл бұрын
A full circle of this would be excellent to place around an actual Terror Drome (so the Firebat launch bay is still central, with the surrounding nerve center & communications area), while "opening up" the interior for vehicle prep, "special projects", prisoner quarters, troop staging, etc., and STILL having that outer wall protection with the large mounted cannons... I always viewed the actual Terror Drome as the central portion of the larger structures portrayed in the comics and cartoons, and these new walls would make that more of a reality. I would leave the little outer gun wells attached, but NOT put figures inside, and just say they're automated, (unless maybe some BATs). That way there's still a deterrent factor outside the walls themselves, and so what if some BATs get destroyed, that's what they're for anyway... Just a thought, in case you end up with a Terror Drome too.

I ordered the entire base. It's amazing! I know a lot of folks are complaining about the price but this thing is massive! You have to remember it's short production run and it's American made. So that's why it has a higher cost. Hasbro would never make anything like this now

@@ActionRobotPunch if I could show you pictures I would. I'm waiting for them to send one of the bay doors. I emailed just like you did they were very nice and said that it was coming in the mail. My twelve-year-old son was sitting Indian style in the middle of this thing. So it really is massive. He filled it up with pretty much his entire collection of cobras. I know it was close to 200 figures. A cobra ferret will fit perfectly going under the doors. You can even set a Rattler in the middle of it. Would be interesting to see if a cobra terrordrome fits in the middle I think it's possible. Maybe this week my son and I will give it a try.

I think that’s a really good point. I pulled the trigger because of the size, that it was durable, and it’s a curved shape with a big radius (harder to make). I do want to one day get a junker terrordrome and gut it and fill it with all kinds of functions. But for now this is quick to set up and I can let the kids bash on it, which I don’t do with any other sets I have 😁

On the opposite side of the Mountain, you can very neatly fit the Cobra Bunker. Also, the infamously hard to pose Golobulus fits nicely snug into the Mountain's throne. I'm actually a bit confused by the design of this. First off, it looks like there are two, forward facing doorways on the upper level, but when the upper walls are attached, they both get blocked. Secondly, how do the soldiers get from the first to second level? There are no stairs or elevator. Third, there is a jail door, but no jail. Shouldn't there be bars enclosing a space inside the jail door? And lastly, how is that trap door supposed to trap anyone, when it opens upward? It should swing DOWN when you pull out a support pin (similar the the laser gate). It seems like these flaws could have all been worked out before production, with little to no additional manufacturing costs.
@ActionRobotPunch2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, those aren't doors, just "cavities" where there doesn't need to be plastic. If they were doors they be sort of like elevator shafts with no elevator :) You're right about the no stairs thing for getting up to the second level. And the "prison" requires imagination or maybe some temp walls to really close it in. I think they should hire you to the do their next design. It'd be way more functional.

honestly, I had the terrordrome, and it was no real big deal... oh yeah, you get the firebat, it raises and lowers, but once you did a few times, the novelty wears off. the thing surely rotated at some point in development, but they cut that off, and the concept pretty much falls flat then. there was nt much of an interior, one cell, one where there s the lever for the firebat, and all others were gas stations that were copied exactly the same. the cannons of the side panels only went up - down, no rotation. by now, the plastic must be brittle, as it was quite hard. as for your base, it looks a bit on the cheap side, especially for what you paid for. the design is somewhat flawed, especially for the doors. the scale for figures is loose, like if they did nt know exactly which line it s for. I had way more fun with home made cardboard bases I made myself. a guy with your skills, you d do much better and cheaper on your own. if I were you, I d get FREE cardboard out from containers from stores s back alleys. I see plenty of those on home hardware or other stores. design your panels, cut them, paint them light grey, add cut details, buy some cheap military accessory kits, they have ladders, guns, barbwires ect. you ll get the hang of it in no time, doors will fit and open, you ll have roofs, you can make garages that fit, landing pads, prison cells, trap doors ect. all the goodies for about $40... heck, even add lights if you want to. cardboard is way tougher than you d expect, add nails to fix the floors. by playing around with it, I found many techniques to make it solid. it s possible to make stairs, elevators, furniture, it s just endless! good work!

You're right. I could make a base like this but I wanted to give this a shot. And though it's overpriced I really dig how durable it is. I can leave it with the kids to use and not worry about it being broken. I think you're spot on about the scale being ambiguous. Maybe I'll make my own terrordrome, but mine would be only half of one so you could play with the insides like a dollhouse. They nailed it with the Flagg, making the rooms all accessible from the side. Thanks for checking this out.
