Since I received the mail twice, I give my opinion twice too. Thanks, Cobus, I got the idea and it's a pleasure to watch how other people perform it.

I'm not that familiar with Sabian cymbals. What ride is that? Did you drill the holes yourself? It sounds great!

That's because he is promoting himself, he got paid to do this method and it that lets the channel get some funding for better lessons, and Cobus brings some of his fans and gains some along the way.

I'm not a pro but I think he could play moeller triplets in left hand and ride accents in right. so it is trick for beginners - to make girls WOW

I completely understand what you're saying, but if you were a drummer trying to get your name out and had chances to teach short lessons on this youtube channel, i'm sure you would take advantage of it as well, no? it's just drummers helping out drummers!

wouldn't it just be easier and make more sense to just play single strokes?

it won't look as cool, and it will sound slightly different because of the sticking.

Let's just stick to Jared, please. I kinda feel like Jared's a good teacher, with his technic playing and speaking and stuff, and on top of that, he plays really good, while Cobus seems to me here just to promote himself showing a couple of simply applied rudiments.

Yeah, he's talking alot about himself. We don't care about that. He should concentrate more in teaching stuff.

This is one of the few video lesson's I don't agree with. Those sweeps do not sound clean at all, and he explains exactly why they don't sound clean, because he is using a circular, lazy motion. If you want this to sound good, do the opposite, a linear motion from surface to surface, and use more energy in the wrist. It's actually not a bounce, but a true double stroke where the first note executes and the second is a rebound stroke. Don't try to be so relaxed all the time, or it will show.
