It tastes like drinking coke and eating nerds at the same time. I grabbed this one my way to see The Batman. It really went well with the salty popcorn. Felt like I was having a nice treat. Having it in a Slurpee would be the ultimate.

As someone who works for Coca Cola, the flavor is supposed to be s’mores flavored. However during our taste test people found 9 different profiles personally I tested cherry, while others tasted cotton candy and normal coke lol

Interesting, that’s one of the first things I thought of once my brain wrapped itself around it. It started out as some kind of cookie flavor, then after a couple sips I was getting distinct graham cracker and something like cream soda. I told my kids that it kind of has a s’mores flavor to it, but also maybe some caramel notes. That said, not my bag. The aftertaste just lingers and I’m not a fan of it.

I picked myself up a 12 pack of these and needless to say was very disappointed. When something is advertised as space flavored I full expected it to taste like the vacuum of space. With the cracking of the seal, I was anticipating my eyeballs being sucked out of skull similar to how they would be beyond the stratosphere. Upon opening the can, however, my eyes stayed in their place and instead of tasting space all I got was a sugary beverage. Coca Cola will never get another cent from me. I’m tired of these large corporations thinking they can get away with this level of false advertising. 7/10 pretty okay

I immediately got the "Cotton Candy and Graham Cracker" finish with this latest Coke entry. Marvelous Drink, and I drink mostly bottled water but I wanted to try this. Coke is my favorite when I stray off water every few months. Great review. I believe that Coke should add this to their product line permanently.

@@Zachhatesyoutube this is about your blood sugar. Artificial sweeteners do not increase your blood sugar. Exception being sugar alcohol sweeteners. They have carbohydrates and do influence blood sugar. So while your body may ultimately process artificial sweeteners in a similar way to sugar, people with medical problems specifically related to blood sugar will not have a problem drinking them. It is not the same as sugar in this way.

Tbh you're a fool if you think anything labeled "zero" or "no sugar" actually has no sugar in it. They may taste different due to a different mixture of chemicals or whatever but all things have sugar in them. To say that its zero sugar is just a marketing ploy

The bitter, metallic note of a lot of artificial sweeteners changes the overall flavor profile of whatever it's in. It's not surprising that you can keep the other flavor elements the same in this drink, but the Zero version tastes completely different. Aspartame always works better in drinks that are already tart/bitter, like Squirt. That said, regular Coke Zero is way better than it has any right to be.

As someone that works for Coke it's good to hear that the preeminent authority on the fizzy drinks approves of this rollout. Personally when I got to try early samples a week or so before release I got the impression of sweet fruity notes myself, but this is because I've almost never eaten cotton candy. That said it's what others that have tried it have told me they compare it to as well. Gotta say it has been selling pretty nicely but yes it'll be about a 4 month run for this so if you want it get it while ya can.

as a type1 diabetic since I was 11 (27 now) I can understand why somebody who doesn't normally have diet/zero sodas wouldn't like them. Personally tho, I think coke zero is the definitive coke. regular coke taste like battery acid to me. diet coke has its own special brand of acidity but I sometimes crave that. But Coke Zero is the way to go! and I have to say I think it's the better version of starlight. but I'm the opposite spectrum. I'm someone who doesn't drink sugary sodas (real sugar i mean) hardly ever. I have tried both because my gf doesnt drink the diets/zeros. and they deff have the same flavors. regular version having that weird acid taste that regular coke has. so I would say anyone who drinks coke should try it out! just pick out your preferred sugar or sugar free variant~ it's a tasty flavor!

I tried two bottles- one for my initial response, and the other once I had others' ideas. My first impression was a Light Strawberry Cola but not as sweet or fizzy as most Cokes (this was NOT Diet or Zero), I tried it again after some described it a Berry Cotton Candy, which I can understand and might agree with. Both times, I was underwhelmed, I did not hate them & would drink them if nothing else was available. But if I want a flavored Coke, I'll go for the Cherry.

These have been my addiction lately. Tried it on a whim and I've been hooked ever since. Coworker mentioned it had a cinnamon like taste after sitting in the fridge for a night. As someone who heard about a previous market test for cinnamon coke, but missed out due to it being exclusive to one location and me not knowing, I took it as my chance to try something similar to what I missed out on. Its hard to describe the flavor. Newly opened, its more fruity. After breaking that seal and letting it sit the more vanilla and spice notes come out. (So tip: let your bottle/can sit in the fridge for a bit) It kind of reminded me of the hint of spice that the gingerbread mountain dew had. Or like red hot gum after it turns sweet. Comments mention it was supposed to be a smores which sort of makes sense. I guess the vanilla and cinnamon I was tasting was perhaps the marshmallow and graham. Going to really sad when this stops being sold. Hopefully soda companies experiment more in the future with cinnamonish flavors. It works so well.

Next time you drink it, think of vanilla coke, and you'll realize that's basically what it is. Some people say it tastes like crazy things though. I wish I tasted those things. Like skittles or cotton candy. I know one of my favorite things is the Halloween mystery MTN dew flavor. Before it was revealed to be candy corn, it tasted like bubblegum and Skittles and nerds. I actually thought there were different flavors, but nope lol it was one and I'm just crazy.

On Thursday 2/24/22, I had both the regular version and then by accident the zero sugar version. It is different. Not bad, just different. The best way I could come up with describing it is you're at a Carnival and have been drinking a Coke with ice from a cup so there's like half a cup left. You let the ice melt and it is now about 75% full. You pass by the Cotton Candy machine and they have 3 flavors: bubblegum, raspberry, and cherry. You take one of each flavored sugar packets that are used to make the cotton candy, and you add a little of all 3 to your diluted Coke. It turns red. You then order a can of Cherry Coke, a Dr Pepper, and a bottle of sparkling water. You add a litle of all 3 until your cup is full. You stir all of it together and then drink it. That's Coke Starlight.

This is the coolest beverage concept I’ve heard of since Pepsi bought rockstar and destroyed the “original” flavor. I forget the name of the nebula but if you look it up, the cloud is lousy with these molecules that our senses would interpret as “raspberry flavored”. As a Czech, I love seeing the Pilsner Urquell glass! All pilsner-type beers are named pilseners because it was first brewed in Pilsen, Czech Rep (my homeland). You can buy these in the US as well and I'd recommend trying them.

I have only had the sugar-free version. When tasting it I knew it reminded me of something but couldn't quite put my finger on it until it came to me as I finished the bottle. It tasted almost exactly like Torani's sugar-free Peanut syrup. This is not to say it tasted like peanuts, as the Torani syrup doesn't taste like peanuts. But that same weird taste is to be found in both products. That's too bad because it sounds like the regular version is very good.

I drank a 20 oz Starlight Coke. I like your description of the taste. I tasted the original Coke flavor, with the slightest hint of raspberry and a creamy aftertaste. Also, it’s supposed to be red. Unless your looking at it in the sunlight, it looks like regular Coke. I like the super extra carbonation. Thanks for sharing your taste test!

I tried the starlight flavor just based on this review. What you said was absolutely true; cotton candy with a graham cracker aftertaste is precisely what the flavor is. I can't even describe it any other way, lol. Although, I couldn't notice much of a difference between the regular and zero sugar version; I tried both. I think the zero sugar one was better, but for some reason, the flavor hit me the most during the first sip, but diminished with every subsequent sip from both versions, and I drank the zero sugar version first. It's weird. I think the same thing happened to you in this review; you drank the regular version first, so you liked it better, because--for some reason--the first sip is the best in regards to this starlight variety.

the ad campaign is about it tasting like space. and a simple google will show you it's raspberries. it's based off a cloud of stuff they found in space that has the same chemical that gives raspberries their flavor. not to devalue you and everyone else who claims they taste smores. it's quite the phenomenon. People read Coke Starlight is "Space-flavored", googled what space tastes like, found an old article about a dust cloud in the center of the MIlky Way that is made of of the stuff that gives raspberries their flavor, and wrote about it being a possibility before Starlight was even on shelves. Reviewers read that before trying it, saw a red color, and through the power of suggestion they are convincing themselves they taste something raspberry-like. I'm drinking it right now. It tastes like graham cracker, chocolate, a general sweetness for marshmallow flavor, and there is a mild cooling sensation. They say it tastes like Coke with additional notes, but cola flavor is barely discernable as the s'mores flavor and cooling sensation overpower it.

I just discovered you with this review. have you ever tried Hansen's Soda? I saw some at the local store and tried their Cherry Vanilla. It's made with cane sugar, has NO sodium, total 82% sugars, and 160 calories in 12 ounces. No artificial flavors or caffeine. Carbs are 41 gms. And it tastes pretty good, and because there is no sodium, you're not thirsty again in one hour.

The sodium thing varies heavily between people: people who already have enough sodium in their body will react like you, but people who don't consistently consume enough salt (or consume too much water) will feel thirstier without sodium. I cook food from scratch a lot and sometimes I don't salt enough which makes me crave for instance some salt in my coffee or water. The body seeks to have an equilibrium of electrolytes.

I'm usually a pepsi max drinker and it tastes perfectly sweet until you pair it with a snack that has any real sugar in. It will taste dead by comparison. I think you may have influenced the results by drinking the "real" one first. I'm sure you would still have liked the one with sugar more, but I think you would have like the zero at least somewhat more than you did, if you had tasted it first.

You can’t judge carbonation using a Pilsner glass unless you always pour into a Pilsner glass. There are reasons things have the shapes they have. It’s not for looks. The exact reason for a Pilsner glass is to have an effect on the effervescent mouthfeel of beer. Please keep the glass shape in mind when judging mouthfeel, smell, etc.

I always find it facinating when people talk about the diffrinces in regualr and zero sugar. Me, being a diabetic since i was born, have always had the zero sugar or diet drinks and now, when I do taste the regular it taste like syrup. Not like maple syrup more like the paste form of sugar you find in frostings and such. But i am in agreement the zero sugar starlight is not a sutable drink compared to its sugar based counterpart.
