Some things I've noticed: 00:00 AI is pretty decent with the landscapes. Some weirdness here and there, such as the fir trees being weird and blurry around the edges, but landscapes being naturally irregular seems to play well with AI generation. 00:03 Left reindeer's rear legs are in weird, broken positions. They appear to cave into the animal's posterior near the top. Right reindeer is missing the front-right leg. Right reindeer's horns appear to shrink as its overwritten by the postition of the left reindeer's head. Both animals have weird, random blurriness around their fur. Sometimes fur is in good detail, sometimes it's just a mess of color. (This is a repeating theme with animal fur throughout the commercial.) 00:05 Throughout the commercial, every single truck is a special, unique snowflake of unfunctional shapes. I'm not sure this truck would be able to make turns without the trailer's... umm... "middle" tires skidding sideways along the pavement. It should be okay, though, considering the trailer isn't even attached to the tractor at all. ALSO, I'm convinced that the Coca-Cola logos were all done in post to make certain they were never screwed up by the AI. This comes up later. 00:07 Slightly more accurate box truck (bobcat?) design. In fact, looks very similar to trucks I've driven for commercial vending, but the box is too long. Maybe the tires could be further back? It's definitely a case of "the longer you stare, the worse it gets", but for the one, single, solitary second you can actually see the vehicle, it's pretty good. I didn't notice that the steps weren't under the door until I paused. Anywho, the creases and folds on the guy's pants move about like amorphous jelly. 00:08 First of all, 6-fingers on the hand. Anyways, I thought the bottlecap was bad CGI added in post, until I remembered that's what the entire fucking commercial is. It just floats off into Zero-G like this was in space (also goes the wrong direction, based on how the bottle was "opened".) Bottlecap also appears to be made out of red plastic. The lighting doesn't play on it like metal. Additionally, the AI attempted to make the bottle look like it was covered in condensation. Ignoring the cold air for a moment (this is a commercial after all, they would just spritz it with a spray bottle to get the same effect IRL), there are no water drops along the clean top line of the bottle's outline, and the Coca-Cola logo is clearly visible with no distortion from condensation droplets. 00:09 Wtf are these lights? This is just some weird fever dream interpretation of a truck covered in "Christmas lights". They look like tiny little bulbs that are embedded in the metal. Oh well, at least they're amber in color, so they're following DOT regulations. 00:10 Weird, amorphous shifting of the reindeer anatomy as they turn their heads. This is one of AI's weakpoints, as the AI can't actually generate a 3D model. It's just doing its best to draw a series of 2D stills. ALSO, the very first frame of this shot has much higher fidelity than the rest of the shot. Weird. None of the other shots have this happen, as far as I could tell. 00:12 I hate it when I'm skidding on ice. 00:13 One of the better animal shots. Movements are just a bit jerky and unnatural. Camera movement is also setting something off in my brain, but I can't really figure out why. 00:14 There sure are a lot of Christmas lights everywhere... I wonder if that's going to be a recurring theme... Also, all those rear lights are supposed to be red, not amber. Definitely not complying with DOT regulations. 00:16 Uh oh, looks like those trucks are having a little trouble staying straight. Also, notice anything weird about the Coca-Cola logos yet? I'll get back to that. 00:18 More animal weirdness. Specifically, the mother duck always moves its right leg, which will then transform into its left leg, so it can now move its right leg again, as if it were some kind of weird jelly-thing imitating a duck. 00:20 Failed perspective, very easy to spot. Furthest sign is growing larger (moving towards the camera). AI must have gotten confused on how to do that again, only being able to interpret things in 2D stills. Trucks are some sort of vague Peterbilt, but you can't open their driver doors because the exhaust is mounted over the doors. 00:21 This was when I figured out the logos were all done as a patch-job in post. First, they're always the perfect Coca-Cola logo to ensure AI didn't get a chance to mess it up. Second, they seem to... jitter? Like the editing program they're using in post isn't tracking quite correctly, but I wouldn't blame it considering what the hell it has to work with. Third, they are always pure white. The letters never change their color tones to match the environment, whereas AI usually loves messing with color tones, even if it's nonsense lighting. Indicates a quick, dirty rush job. 00:25 So... a lot just happened... and there's also a LOT of Christmas lights. Like, god damn, they're EVERYWHERE, and they're HUGE! It's like some kind of giant, mutant Christmas Spider went around the world just shitting entire cobwebs of Christmas lights all over the trees and mountains. They're so random and tangled. 00:26 ...Do they celebrate Christmas in Vaguely-Japan? Also, the kanji or whatever is probably nonsense shapes, but I'd love it if the AI accidentally wrote something grotesquely sexual. I wouldn't be surprised if it never occurred to anyone in marketing to double-check that. Okay, from here on out, it's more of the same mistakes over and over. Literally every single frame of this is buried beneath the uncanny valley, but I'm just gonna point out a few glaring ones: 00:32 Glaring perspective/movement and shape problems with trucks. Literally looks like someone took a .jpeg of a truck and just dragged it slowly across an OBS screen to record it. 00:45 The moon is an amorphous egg that's in front of the mountain. 00:46 Adult polar bear's left eye appears to have some sort of melted flesh covering it. Also, the paws got duplicated. 00:47 Compliment here, the mice are surprisingly good! Almost Pixar-ish. Not too bad... until I saw their paws. 00:48 Owl beaks melt in and out of each other, as expected. What wasn't expected was them giving the camera bedroom eyes for the whole shot. 00:50 Dog appears to have 3 pairs of nostrils on its nose. Look like the AI started to draw out the cat curled up on its side, but then decided to take the cat's body and cover it with the fur texture of the mice, transforming them into some weird nightmare hybrid. Also, the little dots for the whiskers on the mice are setting off my trypophobia. I can't be bothered to write any more, but I will add this: Was the music also done with AI? All commercial music is bland and repetitive, but sometimes the music here is just... just some sort of vague melodic sound? Like, I can't always make out the words to the song because they might not actually be words.

This is genuinely such a pathetic and terribly done advert, even by AI standards. I fucking hate how greedy these companies are, they are seriously happy to release a substandard, dreadful AI advert so they don't have to pay anybody to make a good one. I bet the song is AI generated too. They literally could have paid a young animator $1k and they would have made something far less tacky and more presentable. The company that owns Coca Cola is worth $1 trillion and Coca Cola itself is worth $271 billion, and yet they are willing to release something this poor quality and dreadful to avoid spending a small amount of money (Relative to their cash flow) to release an advert which is actually impactful and wholesome, corporate greed knows no bounds. I don't know why but I really have a bee in my bonnet about this, I just find it despicable, I genuinely believe I could make an advert of similar quality in a single day (In a few hours tops) and I have very little experience with generating AI music and AI videos, I am completely unqualified to make adverts and I seriously think I could do a job as good as, if not better than the one they have. I hate this. The only angle I can see this working with is the whole 'All publicity is good publicity' thing, and it's purposefully terrible to spark controversy and get people speaking about it, but it's not like people don't know about Coke, and seeing them release such a crappy advert certainly does not inspire me to drink their crap products, in fact, it actively makes me want to avoid buying their products out of childish spite.

I don’t care how good AI’s going to get, I will not allow EVEN 1 FRAME of AI generated material to be in ANY of my future films, TV productions and KZbin videos. (Unless of course it’s just for a laugh.) But other than that, no AI in ANY of my productions. And if I find out that anyone has put AI generated material into any of my productions behind my back, they WILL be sued.

This shouldn't be a commercial. While AI Art and Video can be fun to play with, that doesn't mean that it should be used for a national advertisement.

At the 49 second mark, notice the dog has two sets of nostrils and the mice have no bodies. They were too cheap to go back and edit it properly. AI should only be used as reference or starting points if it is to get used at all.

I'm sorry i'm being rude here but, You're part of the reason ai is becoming worse. People just accepting this shitty technology is what makes it become "better". Also, no. I wouldn't hate it if it was a cartoon, because then it would actually have been made with the hard work of REAL people, putting the effort in to make the jolliest and best ad they could ever make. When it's just Ai garbage stealing thousands of artists works and mushing them together to make something, it's not fun, it's not good (both visually, and literally. Generative Ai is terrible for the enviroment), it's just soulless corporate trash.

I am good with AI / computer generated and "real" actors...I guess the question I have is if they use real animals, how many people would say there was some form of cruelty to how these animals were treated or how they are housed or maybe they were worked for more than 8 hours a day.. I have read the concerns from activist concerning the use of real animals. But when real actors are not used, then the spirit of Christmas is all the sudden in question. We rewatch Christmas Carols and Christmas movies or short stories from as far back as the 1940's and we love them. Almost all of them were art drawings and as time elapsed, the use of computers were utilized to create stories. All the sudden, the use of computer generated characters is a problem. I myself don't really have a issue either way. I don't care if its real or if its computer generated or drawings, there is art and beauty in it all.

@@tameratammycollins5876 Artistry implies human creativity. The difference between 2D animation and AI slop is that in 2D animation a real human being had to painstakingly create every frame of movement, put their heart and soul into it. If it was made, it was something they absolutely wanted to make, and there was genuine passion in it. Every pen line and brush stroke a deliberate choice from a real, creative human mind. Comparing AI slop and human created animation is like comparing a home cooked meal to a bunch of raw ingredients thrown in a blender and then saying they're the same because they have the same number of calories.

People hate it, because it might start the start of an era, where human creativity has fallen in the hands of AI, to bring emotionless, cheap, lazy advertisements

Calling Silverside AI and the other ones "studios" is a disgrace. They are just typing prompts into a computer. When i'm sitting on the toilet and poop, i don't claim to be a "biomass producer".

The fact that people don't understand the point of this at all is what annoys me. Not that I am one to stick up for a megacorporation but they made an ad a huge talking point and did it for next to no cost. They want your engagement and it's what these ads are always about. They aren't about the "Joy of Christmas" or the "Heart and Soul" - they couldn't give less of a shit. You came to watch it just like me purely because people are annoyed about it, AI and AI generated video/art has been the topic of the year so this isn't all that surprising. Stop thinking that you've caught them out because the shots are less than 1.5 seconds, or how you think it looks dumb (which it does), or how easy it is to spot how fake it all is. They got you. You engaged with the ad
@NevernamedАй бұрын
This "All publicity is good publicity" stuff is nonsense, not all engagement leads to product sales, especially if the engagement is negative and drives people away from the product. Hell, Coca Cola has already shot themselves in the foot before pulling weird half thought out stunts.

0:05 there is light where the truck stands but the streetlight doesn't work at all. Also notice how the truck design chances in less than a second (0:05 to 0:06) What's going on with the feet of the ducklings at 00:19? It also doesn't make any sense at all that there are some monkeys taking a bad in the ice cold water at 0:29 In general, all of the new AI Coca Cola christmas ads are awful!

If you love the prospect of ai being everywhere then become a robot. Rip your heart and organs out of your body so you can put in digital versions of all of them. Seriously if people are so open to push ai then can they push it to solve problems that people actually have instead of this?

This is one of the most irritating attitudes in tech culture these days "The technology may suck now but dont criticise it because it will get better". They said that about blockchain and NFTs and look where those ended up.
