Dude it couldn’t be an entire movie of the bear running around killing people. That’d be a fun video game but doesn’t work as a movie. Monster movies like predator and Alien take their time to establish the characters so not only are you more excited when you see the monster, since you’ve been given time away from it to build tension, but you also care a little bit about the characters being killed. And to be honest this movie much less time than Alien or Predator establishing characters. It’s the different between a movie with a plot that pushes the movie forward and a GTA video where the person gets a 5 star wanted level

Well they had to tie together how and why all those people were in the woods in the first place so that’s why they focused on the mother and daughter and drug dealers etc… and what do you mean they should’ve focused on the bear more… did you want it be a montage of the bear killing people with barely any dialogue in the movie? For what the film marketed itself as, it was incredibly underwhelming. Like a high budget snl skit when it could have been a satire of creature features done over the top like terrifier for slasher films. I did like ice cube's son being upset about his jersey. That gave me a chuckle, and yes i was absolutely stoned during this film which definitely helped.
