Cockatiel colors explained - mutations and genetics

This video is a tough one.
Extremely long and definetly not for everyone, in fact I expect it to get very few views.
Just those with a deep interest for all the colours and mutation should watch this video or it's gonna be a pain, really, if you want a chilled video with birbs acting fun watch an other one, I have a lot of them!😂
BUT I had to do it if i wanna be serious about cockatiels, so here it is!

Male chicks would be Normal grey split to pearl , lutino and cinnamon, Female chicks would all be Lutino

Thanks for making such an informative video. We just lost one of our baby girl cockatiel. She had the mutations of a whiteface cinnamon pearl. Something that we learned while taking care of her is that multiple avian vets have stated that due to inbreeding to achieve certain mutations, especially her specific colors, there is a higher chance for genetic defects and health problems for this specific mutation. There hasn't been any scientific studies or research showing this, but based off of the years of experience from the avian vets, they have all came up with the same conclusion. I was wondering if you can make a video talking about this topic. It would be really interesting. My girlfriend and I are probably going to be considering the mutation type and their respective health risks that comes with them when deciding to get a new pet cockatiel. It has been hard for us to see our whiteface cinnamon pearl cockatiel die at such a young age of 4 years old due to a uncommon fungal infection, and we have tried really hard to be good pet owners to give them the best life possible.

Hi there! I have a female cockatiel, she is light pied or maybe split to pied… Her mum was pearl and her dad was light pied. Does that means she is split to pied? She has some dark spots on her feets and some dark toenails. She has a yellow crest and at the back at her head she has a dark spot. Woww... you have explained it so well. I have a question for you. I have 2 pairs of cockatiels, one pair is normal WF male and WF pied female(some say albino pied) and another is again normal WF male + WF PEARL female. can you tell me what will be the Offspring are...??

Hi, in the first case, the offspring will be WF normals, some could have white spots due to being split to pied. In the second case, all normal WF. But if the male is split to some sex linked mutations (like pearl, ino, cinnamon) you could see them in the female offspring. In the second couple, if the male is split to pearl you could also see male pearls in the babies

No, cream face can be split to white face, but white face can't be split to cream face, because WF is recessive

Yes... Sometimes the feathers on the sides of the bald spot can reach in and cover a bit but the spot remains.

Hello Bcz the Male is lutino and the female is not so all of the lutinos you have is a female And because they produce pied that mean that the cock is split to pied bcz the pied gene is recessive and u need 2 genes of it to shows out
