it's gacha_logic my tiel had another bird with her but after my cousin took her away, she has been a little quiet and whenever we play an audio of her friend singing, she keeps calling him and i can tell she gets really sad so for us, it’s better if we don’t play any audio of the other bird. I feel like it was wrong for my cousin to take her friend away like that. They had been together for so long..
@pinokosthewife4 жыл бұрын
@@shilmetabashum4094 it’s not just making her sad, at the very least, play other birds’ sounds, they need it for enrichment or she might end up depressed! Don’t leave her alone and sad. Play sounds of her species, let her out more, play with her, and see if maybe you can eventually get her a new companion too.
@shilmetabashum40944 жыл бұрын
@@pinokosthewife we dont just leave her in the cage. Ofc we take her out and play with her for a long time and make her feel more comforted but we obviously do limit her out time and cage time. When we first got her, she used to stay in this corner of the cage which was the furthest area from us but now that we play with her and her feel more welcomed and set her free to roam around, she has now started moving around and there is a latch that opens on the top of the cage and we always keep opened (we close it at night tho) for her to get out and play anytime. We also realized that she is better being alone than having companions because since she is very young (she turned 1, five days ago) she can’t really fight when the other’s “fight” with her. Obviously we dont just keep her to be lonely all the time with no companion, we play with her and spend time with her as her own buddy.
@shilmetabashum40944 жыл бұрын
@@pinokosthewife and also, her friend that she stayed with a while had PTSD and he was taken away by my cousin and everyone was saying how it wasn’t right that she just took him like that because they have been together for a long time and they also said that my cousin should have taken both of them both instead of separating them and it disappoints me how they don’t look at our situation cause since they weren’t there when my cousin took my cockatiel’s buddy, he refused to leave the cage and i felt really bad b/c the cage the bird is in rn is really small for a cockatiel his size and that was the bird that has PTSD; being tortured and hurt by his previous owners. (My second cousin decided to keep the bird after he got left in front of my aunts door by the torturous ppl)

What a sweet note. I realize you posted this a year ago, but I can so relate to your loss--and Buster Bird's--I wanted to chime in. I hope his leave-taking was gentle and loving. BTW, I had two 'tiels who were both about 25 when they died, given up at about age 15 by their former owners. When I got the second one, I just told my pet-loss support group, well, we'll just be three old birds hanging out together. And we were, for a long time! I hope you have another feathered companion.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We recently rescued a cockatiel from a sad situation. We waited a couple of weeks to let her decompress, and yesterday finally moved her to a larger enclosure. The move was a bit traumatizing for her. We were told she had been handled by humans before. That was obviously a lie. She was so scared. She spent all day yesterday and all night at the bottom of the cage. Didn't want to climb or perch. All this to say: the second she heard this video she started chirping and a finally climbed up on a perch. She seems so relaxed now, 16 minutes into the video! Thank you! ❤

Blessings to you both, hope our buddies pull through thier loss, I can't not give alvin enough company at mo as he looks down at times, the video helps. Funny enough alvin last night tried to pull a late night stop out, wanting to stay out on playground, refused to go in when offered, it was past 8pm where like clock work they would both call out for bed at 7:30 ish, and alywin does his tipped eagle impersonation display as I cover for bed, I let alvin stay out, he told me a 840 ish he was done and ready for bed asked me for uber in his lovable way, and give him a hand back in cage so funny🤣🤣😍 he was like a right teenager with a strop on.. 🤣🤣👍 I was considering along with my son and his father to introduce a new friend, but it was to much the loss of alywin and we thinks Alvin's showing signs of being OK for now, never say never. I rescued alywin and Alvin' over 25 years ago from advert in pet shop window, we had a budgie at time also rescused called monty and thought these two new additions would be good fun besides company, oh boy was it just, it became a mad house they got on like house on fire, many laughs and fond memories. Im hoping to remove Alwyns cage today😔 didn't want to do this to soon as al kept looking over and into but I covered. I'm hoping I'm reading him right and everyday he is showing signs of being more reliance than I thought considering as he is getting on a bit himself abt 24 we think, but by day 3 after loss of his buddy alvin was back to rubbing on favourite perch on playground but still grumpy with me, time heals hopefully. Blessings to you both. Thank you for a lovley reply and chat, all the best to your buddy's and to us all on these troubled times we have today in a topsy turvy upside-down world. 🙏😘 Cockatiles forever 👍😇.

@glamgal71063 жыл бұрын
I agree with what you said about cockatiels being easy to tame based on my own experience with my cockatiel Chipper. I got him at 4 months old and he’s now 15 years of age. He was easier to tame than I thought because almost immediately he learned how to perch on my finger. Though he was quiet when I brought him home, he still showed a pleasant disposition which I thought was a good sign. He loved getting head pets and knew that putting his head down meant that he wanted them. I was also teaching him how to whistle. Within 2 weeks, he learned the wolf whistle, then the “charge” whistle. Soon I’d hear him say his name. I also taught him how to whistle the first line of the “Little Willy” chorus which not only did he learn quickly, he’d improvise his own whistling melodies...he knew that he was a talker! I think cockatiels epitomize the phrase “Good things come in small packages” because despite their small size, they’re giants when it comes to what they have to offer!

Gorgeous video. This is beautiful. My cockatiel loves it and I think my love bird does too. Where are you that you can have an outdoor aviary? You've created a beautiful home for your birds. I love the colorfulness and spaciousness, and love that you have different birds inside. Isn't it amazing that in nature, so many different birds can live together peacefully!?! This is the best bird video I've seen. I appreciate the "live" aspect. I hate "loops" which some people make and which your innate sense of things (sixth sense) begins to pickup.. This video depicts the birds in their natural setting, and is gentle, and also beautiful to watch. It is soothing as background for me and my birds. I love that it's 12 hours. I love the variety of shots which the Cockatiel Companion and The Pheasantasiam shot. This video is absolutely excellent! Thank you!

Thanks so much for this video compilation! I put it on for my Chipper(cockatiel)to watch when I go to work so he won't get lonely. When I come home, he's intently watching and sometimes talking with"the flock."

This video is the one thing that's helping my 9 year old cockatiel girl right now. Her friend passed away from cancer a few months ago and although she's been a solo bird before, it's harder for her now. She's gone from screaming ALL the time to being much happier chatting to get fake boyfriends on the TV. And she's now eating during the day because her fake flock is eating, which is a bonus as she lost a wee bit of weight from waiting until her human flock returned to eat.

Playing this to my little guy to see his reaction to birdsong. We’re getting a new bird soon and he’s reacting happily. I think this’ll go well :D

My Chipper(cockatiel)has been reacting very well to these videos. Unfortunately because of my work schedule, I don’t think it would be a good idea for me to get another cockatiel-it would be doing him/her a disservice. I was able to train Chipper while I worked part time, he was four months old and that was 15 years ago.
