This video is about a story of my cockatiel chick from an egg (day 1) to 35 days old of a chick just started to fledge this is a grey cockatiel with split to pied mutation and she is a female, she has been kept for free flight training and I heard that the growth rate of a cockatiel in the first 30 days is so fast that it's equivalent to a human newborn turning 5 years old in 30 days so I think everyone will like to see his journey & more videos to come

Polite Suggestion - should have placed the baby on a soft base like a towel rather than a hard floor(It might hurt their legs and Beaks). The stagewise videos are amazing.

​@@artsybitsy2242 You did right buying a grown up now, I hope for your sake the bird is 2 months old. And one that's best not hand fed and don't, never, hand feed yourself if it's not an emergency. Hand feeding should be emergency case only. I don't get why people sell babie birds. It's very difficult to treat them right (as an unexperienced person), they're very fragile and it's more then a full time job, 24 hours of the day you need to feed. And their parents still feed them, teach them bird specific behaviour when they're about 10 weeks old. It's like ripping a child off it's family.

@@42ZaphodB42 im an experienced person actually i had handfeeds before but they flew away, they did not die. This is my first time a bird died to me. I have 6 handfeeds now. The 3 are eating vegetables already and is 2-3 months old. But still loves formula😅. Also i handfeed because i dont like buying domesticated bird because they can take alot of time to tame. I like buying birds so that I can handfeed them and so they will know me sonce they are a baby. My handfeeds dont bite and are very close to me... And i love them and give them care that they need Its my first time handfeeding that young but i learned my lesson😌

Most birds (except for chicks, ducklings, and similar bird types) are the ungainliest and most helpless babies right after they hatch. Ironically, the cute chicks grow up to be not so pretty while so many ugly babies of the other breeds become cute as adults. Nature works in mysterious ways.

cockatoos are exotics and costly so do research before you want to breed them

Well, when you let the parents breed and don't hand feed (hand feeding is best for emergency cases), I don't see an issue breeding cockatiels. It's not much different from breeding chickens then. Just don't let them breed too often in the year, it's very exhausting for the females.
