I have had my cockatiel for a month now and I have been playing this for him since the day I brought him home. He is not very vocal but every time he listens to this he chirps away. I always tell him "would you like to listen to your friends now".

I recently acquired 2 rescue cockatiels from the shelter. 1 sings a couple of songs & is older but the other is young & doesn't sing any recognizable songs. This video is great! They are freaking out listening to it. They are so happy! Thanks for posting this. I love the length because I don't have to keep hitting replay every minute!

I miss my female Latino cockiteel,tweety.she passed away almost a month ago on my moms shoulder. I had her for at least 10 years.Tweety was such a sweetheart. I have a good feeling that in the future we will get another one. Miss having that warm,feathly body that pushes herself onto the side of my face to cuddle..:) what a chatter box you have here,lol..I always love watching bird videos :)

well to update...now I have a new male cockatiel named baby. I have had her for about 2 years. He was a rescue. And we got a total of 4 parakeets...two females we named Bert and Ernie...lol I know what names for two female birds. We weren't too sure if they were male or female. We got these two from our now former neighbor..one of them escaped and a neighbor next door found her...so very lucky bird..so the other two which is a male and female have names but we don't member what they are...we got them from my brother and his gf my brothers gf originally owned one of them and had the chance to get it back..so she went to get them and to find out the person who had them was my brother ex mother in law. Talk about a small world. Well she got back one of the two that my brothers gf sold. The other one was sold to someone else...so this male and female we named Mr. green jeans (male) and the female I named blueberry (female) so for now they have names. And we have a household of birds...I still always think about tweety and all of the birds I had over the years...I feel that their spirits are still here,maybe talking to these birds. So time will heal wounds..:)

Thank you for posting this! My cockatiel gets lonely so when I'm gone I loop different bird videos together on KZbin and play them for him so he can listen to other cockatiels. He will sing along with the birds in the videos! It's more difficult then I thought to find cockatiel videos where the bird is just doing regular bird noises and not whistling a movie tune.

When you clip his wings you dont need to do ALL the flight feathers btw, Tiel look better when you leave the very end one as you get that natural wing lap-over when they are folded :)

my cockatiel loved this video :p his looking at the big mirror trying to find the other cockatiel. He was singing back to the video but he stopped :p. I've had my cockatiel for 3/4weeks now but he doesn't trust me as much. theres been few improvements so thats good, I don't think the previous owner used to let him out the cage to fly or give him green food daily.

This is a male.You can tell the difference usually by if they whistle and sing a lot. Females tend to be more quiet. Hope that helps.

for this coloring of cockitiel you can tell the sexes by the amount of yellow on their heads and faces. this one is def a male. and by the cheek patches. the darker oranges are the males

Dannikay2012- I would make a pacifier for your cockatiel, or buy one. Mine prefers a strip of towelling, cut in two then tied in a knot. She twiddles the loose threads for ages, usually before a nap. My Gertie loves being gently stroked all over her head, I'm sure yours will, as she gets to trust you. Gertie also adores an ice cream cone, I bite the bottom off & put it on a stick which I've attached to my freestanding bedroom mirror. (how I keep it clean is another story, I never have any on t

Yeah it is ridiculous, well I am reading the internet and I do have some hope as apartments that state "NO PETS" mostly refer to cats and dogs, well that's just what I read i'm not completely sure, I am also thinking about getting a pair of cockatiels, I want them to have babies, and if I can't get the cockatiels then I guess I'll get fish for now.

Aroha B , You can get special cleaners for that sort of thing,but it is just bird poop, and I don't find it to be that gross anyway. On hard floors you can just wipe it up with a paper towel. You can potty train a bird. You train it to poop on command pretty much. You can find all sorts of things online on how to train a bird to do that. It's quite easy.

Is this bird female? It behaves differently to a male when they sing, male birds open their wings in heart shapes and tend to strut, this one is sort of "presenting" itself.
