this is one of those videos that really shows off how smart and emotional parrots are. Not only was Buster clearly excited for dad to come home, but at the beginning of the vid when he's first prompted to look for dad he says that "he's at work", showing that even if he doesn't necessarily understand what "work" is, he knows that when dad is not home, that's where he is and so if Buster wanted to look for him, he'd find dad at work. It's such a small thing but it's so brilliant

I dont know if he understands the "dad's at __" part. He just knows that the sounds "dad's at work" is applicable when a particular person isn't around, or during a particular time of day. Probably because he hears that phrase a lot under those circumstances :)
