This video covers Cockenzie harbour which is the smaller and older of the two harbours in the combined settlement of Cockenzie and Port Seton. The harbour is a tidal leisure and fishing haven dating from the 16th century or earlier.

Pronounced "cuKENny" - the "z" is a representation of the medieval letter "yogh" (ȝ) which was used for the "y" sound before the letter "y" was introduced. Yogh was still used in Scotland into the 17th century.

Both in use, the old pronunciation is fading now. The harbour sustained damage in 2023-24 with masonry now missing from the west wall.
