Musselburgh's Lost Railway Stations

There are currently two train stations serving Musselburgh and the surrounding area. However, I recently discovered there were four additional train station which existed at one time or another in the area. As such, I set out to explore these areas and capture some footage of them.

Thank you for this. I'm researching my husband's family tree and his great grandfather was a railway foreman, living on North High Street, Musselburgh in 1912. I'm guessing he worked at the station by the bridge (the second one you cover in this clip.) Now I know what it was called!

The old iron rail bridge across the Esk was dismantled in the early 80s and the Musselburgh station building was a Kwik Fit garage

I can remember the rail tracks crossing the main road at Fisherrow. 😉

Hi John, it would have been a fantastic sight to see trains pulling into the Fisherrow harbour depot, hard to envisage it today.

I can just remember my dad getting stopped on the main road because a train was crossing. If I remember correctly, there were gates they used to close across the road somewhere around where Newhailes Road met Edinburgh Rd
