On the latest installation of Cockpit Casual, Steve Giordano and Bob Allen circumnavigate their way around planet Earth again, this time delivering a Boeing B777-300ER (77W) from Phoenix to Abu Dhabi, then onto Tianjin China to grab an Airbus A320 destined for part-out in Brunswick Maine (USA).
The quintessential example of the life of a "Ferry Pilot", a two-ship circumnavigation is always a grueling, but worthwhile way to spend a week! The episode is divided into two-parts which will drop a week apart.
On this, the first part: Steve and Bob meet-up in Phoenix along with 2 other pilots for the 15 hour non-stop to the Middle East. Then, it's quite the adventure as the pair hop an Emirates A380 to China before they get delayed. The second part of the episode picks up in China when things get crazy.
As usual, the episode is packed with original music produced by Steve Giordano SR, and was filmed, written, edited, scored, narrated, and completely produced by Giordano in his (haha) "Spare" time.

I’m not sure whether it’s the varied locations, the well timed slow/mysterious music, or the incredible visuals, but your video style is so unique and it captures everything I love about aviation in a way I can’t quite put my finger on and articulate in a KZbin comment. Whatever it is, it keeps drawing me back every time. Thank you for your amazing work.

The one thing that impresses me is how you guys fly trips and transition between types fluidly. At my first MRO job I remember being annoyed switching plane types every check, especially one time we did an MD-80, then a 757, then a 320, back to an MD-80. I really hated that last MD-80. Great planes, but they make you earn it. Especially since that plane was pushing 35 and the previous airbus was only 6. I am grateful for the experience though. There are a lot of mechanics and pilots my age who will never get to experience a 757, much less a Douglas. I always love hearing about the old days from the old timers here and while my current job is operationally incredibly flexible I still am amazed at the things you guys pull off.
@CockpitCasual
@CockpitCasual Күн бұрын
Really appreciate the comments. I went from SF340 to DHC-8 to MD-80 to A320 in the 121 world… that foundation is probably why bouncing around on more modern jets (much more similar) is doable for me especially in my old age haha
@TheJakeUtube
@TheJakeUtube Күн бұрын
@CockpitCasual Definitely. It's much easier when all you have to differentiate is how they think instead of jumping from a smart plane to anything Douglas. I love seeing these episodes. You had one of my companies airplanes in one of a few episodes back. That plane is retired now. I'm glad to see you guys prospering. You guys are some of the last cowboys left.
