Just too correct you a little bit, i think the games from the 90s was meant too be sort of Simcade racing. Because it was all about racing on closed tracks, and it was without tuning and NOS. I think the races was much more realistic compared too todays shitty games like Payback UG remake from 2015 and the rest of the crappy street racing games that has been with us since 2003.

Nurburgring, night with fog/rain was a horror, the sense of speed and the fear it gave you to push further into the unknown was like nothing I've ever experienced from a driving game. Shame the physics were crappy. If SMS could recreate that with PC3 then it would be unbelievable, especially in VR.

No Driver: San Francisco? I am disappoint. That game had amazing cockpit views. Each car had its own method of transmission (manual, automatic, semi-automatic) with different animations, Tanner would take a hand off the wheel to move it down and turn the wheel more if you were turning particularly sharply, and if you stayed still for a while, he start drumming his fingers on the wheel. Great video otherwise, though.
@KabberTheR1nner6 жыл бұрын
Great video, like a catalog of in car view feels, agree with a previous commenter +Christopher Ver Hoef that Driver: San Francisco, would have been a good addition. Driveclubs cockpits are so damn detailed. Evolution Studios, really knew how to make it Immersive and engaging. To such a degree that I completed the entire campaign (minus drift events, because I can't drift for shit 😅)without HUD and ONLY in cockpit view, a massive challenge but felt so worth it. And I "got gud" enough that I prefer driving like this, even against online competitors, no HUD and racing games look soo much better IMO, Not to mention it ups the level of immersion :) This was a great video, that took a lot of time and effort to catalog and put together. ^^ I subscribed, and I'm looking forward to your next project aswell :) Good day to you, From Denmark ^^

This is exactly the type of video I was looking for some time ago, but had "stumbled" upon it today somehow - 60 hours spent into making this: you sir are a king. Also, I thumbs up to anyone who can drive/race in cockpit view, because many of my friends are incapable of doing so, although they do drive real cars, but yet in racing games they choose this "Mr. Bean" view.

Grid Autosport definitely has the least impressive cockpits among these games. Looks like cockpit view was more of an afterthought in that game. Still better than no cockpit view at all though. No worries. It's just a bit weird when you make hundreds of videos specifically to show your driving skill and nobody ever comments on your skill but then you make a few videos where you want to show something else (like cockpit view in different racing games) and then suddenly people point out your skill, lol. I had it happen a few times now already. Maybe you can watch some of my actual fast runs in the future. I practice very hard for them and those are the videos where I actually want to impress people with my skill. :) Here is a playlist from last year where I published 150 top leaderboard runs in 150 days: kzbin.info/aero/PLlk-blXREIdiWdTskjVouwC5j42XIWAhQ That challenge was a huge amount of work but sadly it went completely under the radar of people. That's why I started making more videos that are also interesting for more casual players. The competitive stuff is what I am most passionate about though and I still wish I could find more of an audience for that.

Ah, yes, I know about the blocking in China. I have some Chinese friends myself. Your driving looks very good indeed! I assume you are using a steering wheel? Personally I don't like Dirt Rally so much because for me it has bad physics. I am playing with gamepad though. I prefer Dirt 3 and WRC 6. Those games have good physics for playing with gamepad.

the nfs shift series felt very similar to the grid racing series. I love shift 2 unleashed solely for the drifts
