The late 90’s Charger R/T concept wasn’t cancelled because of an end to DaimlerChrysler, it was because of the merger. Happened in 1997 and lasted until 2007.

I was going to mention that. The LX Charger happened BECAUSE of the merger. This '99 concept is still my favorite modern Charger design. They were dumb not to make it, and with modern lighting elements it would still hold up.

I would like to make a quick note that at 14:50, the 1st gen GMC Sierra is also in Driver: San Francisco. It came in two versions in the game, one being completely stock and the other being lifted with bigger wheels and bull bars.

That was the actual 1st gen Sierra (a.k.a. GMT400, a.k.a. OBS); the one in the 4x4 Evo titles was the 2nd gen (a.k.a. GMT800).

I own 2 Pontiac Fieros. A northstar v8 swapped gt and a 3.9 l vvt swapped coupe. I really don’t know why more games haven’t picked up this model. It’s one of this cars that is just a blast to drive. It’s really disappointing that we are now seeing more 80’s culture but we can’t pick up a fiero in a new gran tourismo or forza game. Ugh.

Your GMC Sierra clip is not entirely accurate... The first generation of the Sierra nameplate was actually featured in Driver SF and is considered an "OBS" style body by enthusiasts. The GMT 800 based Sierra is actually the second generation for that nameplate and didn't receive a major front facia refresh like the "Cateye" Silverados of the same platform.

The Vector M12 was such a pig. The cretins at Megatech (despicable owners of Lamborghini and Vector at the time) completely ruined a promising idea, by chucking a Diablo V12 into a chassis it didn't belong to, and hastily cobbling together parts from other cars on a bodywork primarily made of plastic. Seriously, the car had the turn lights of a Mazda MX-5, the rear light clusters of a Vauxhall Cavalier, an interior as bland as a low-budget family car, and sourced the steering wheel from a Ford Mustang. And even then, Vector still couldn't afford the V12 engines they needed to let this car express its identity crisis. The only positive thing about this hunk of crap was the car design, courtesy of chad designer Peter Stevens. But man, I still feel for Jerry Wiegert. Dude was so wronged by corporate scum, and his company never recovered after the hostile takeover. Rest in peace Jerry o7

Actually was a Diablo with a different bodywork and two turbochargers; considering that in thoose races were not admitted boosted v12s, is clear that it was actually a racing version of the Diablo. But I have no idea of the interiors

@@mattiapresti7295 oh yeah, I should've mentioned I was talking about the road version of the M12. There were 20 or so examples produced and sold (for nearly $190k, mind you). And I know absolutely nothing about the race car variant, for a long time I thought it was just one of those fictional race cars you sometimes see in Gran Turismo.

@@Yukino-014 Yes, but as I said, wasn't developed a completely new mechanic for the M12, actually was a tunepd Diablo with a different coach, something that also Lamborghini could have done without taking the image of a bootleg Lamborghini. Then, is difficult thinking what would have been the perfect solution in playing with theese brands, and if this project got the money it needed, but I don't think so, Lamborghini was a better horse to bet on, and they failed also there, if they didn't they wouldn't have sold it to VAG

Oh it absolutely did not get the money needed. Vector was already struggling with delays and over half of the workforce laid off before Megatech took over and nailed down the coffin. And since Jerry Wiegert had successfully recovered the patents and designs, they had no choice but to come up with a "new" design. Although, considering that they bought Lamborghini for $40m and sold it to the VW Group for nearly 3 times that, I personally don't think Megatech ever had any intention of going anywhere with the brands. They effectively "scalped" Lamborghini.
