@jaredkruger97502 жыл бұрын
Well not strictly true, I do think that maintenance on some of the lesser used bases has lapsed but the active ones look fine to me. And our fighters are definitely not from our grandfathers generation, unless your grandfather was born in the late 1990s or early 2000s? But never the less the conditions that our pilots have to deal with due to the lack of funding is unacceptable.
@zainday7173 Жыл бұрын
@@jaredkruger9750 Lack of funding more like theft of the Air Defence Budget. SAAF requires at least 80 Jas-39 Gripens, Air Refuellers, SAAB ERI OR Global Eye AWACS Aircraft, B.A.E Trainer Aircrafts, EAD MAKO low ground Attack Aircraft. One Aircraft carrier followed by dozens of Warships and 8 Diesel Electric Submarines. Damn borders require 3.5 meter fencing and a permanent SANDF, LAV, Patrol Vrchicles and Infantry.. presence...

I was at an airshow in Polokwane (around June or July 2024), as the jets were flying around the guy on the mic said the jet were flying at such a speed that I when I calculated it would have taken them 3 mins to fly from Polokwane airport to Makhado (I think the distance is roughly 100KM) which is crazy. I just don't remember exactly what thr announcer said the speed is but I remember doing the math on it and calculated roughly 100 KM in 3 mins, so roughly 30/35 km per min or so.
