I am so happy to see this still developing, if successful enough this could develop into something not only commercially viable but also have real utility functions, like being able to grasp and move things that would normally take a group of people. At minimum this would be a workforce multiplier in hard labor positions.

That may have been the point. A machine that can work in a Multipurpose role, civilian, civil defense (Imagine this serving as a Firefighter), or Miltech? I can see it working as a Constructor unit.

in gundam lore, the first mobile suits were repurposed construction robots. so this is definitely the starting point. this is the easiest to get into market to show viability, then further research and development from there to improve performance and efficiency.

lol by then they'd be piloted by ai. Humans are going to become dependent on the government.
I'm so glad to see they're still developing the Kuratas. I'm hoping we will get a bipedal model eventually.

My guess is that it's probably a modernized and improved Kuratas. Could be just cosmetically or mechanically. It's either that or the similar quadruped design of the kuratas proved to be the most practical to work off.

Its like a Gundam and a Tachibana had a child. I'm so jealous he got to pilot this thing!!!!
I like the quadrupedal design! I think this is much more practical for a piloted mech given our level of technology. Now we gotta make it have a practical application and not just really really cool looking! I'm thinking disaster cleanup in urban areas.

While I don't see any combat uses for mechs (Except for sporting events and maybe duels). I do see a possible use for them in logistics, construction, first response, and other jobs where they could be used as helpful tools. Biggest issues would be dealing with cost, maintenance, and already existing alternatives.

My son is 5 he wants to make robots to help people in emergencies and other ways. You have shown him that anything is possible. Thank you for that.
My only complaint is the clear focus on form over function. I'd like to see greater range of motion in the shoulder, pitch to the central body, the legs flex to raise or lower the body, moving from point A to B, what the field of view from the polit seat is, overall greater speed. This is more like a fancy sculpture than anything close to a functional suit.

Impressive mecha i must say 😮. Feeling the time of Front Mission or Gundam are nearby.
i understand the impracticality and obstacles preventing this sort of thing from becoming an actual usable tool for construction, civil work and stuff like that, but God do i still wish to see it commonplace in real life.
