I'm a EE. I used to tinker around with microcontrollers to make things that helped around the house. Letting me know when the laundry is done, being able to turn off the light without having to get out of bed. But it's been like 10 years. Hello, Mark Rober. I am an engineer and computer scientist and I have been working with the US Government to develop these very defenses. I run a company which is developing a new version of the MQ-9 Reaper drone to combat mass drone attacks. I was understandably very surprised when I saw this video pop up and I am glad that the public is finally seeing the risk of these drones.
@sirsapphire34998 ай бұрын
I totally agree, but I think part of the problem was also lack of ability. I do think that there was a period where the public lacked awareness of the dangers of drones, but I also think there was debatably a period where the public began catching on but didn't have the ability to do anything about it yet. Thankfully, it seems that period is coming to its end as well.

People are suddenly worried about it, but anyone could have used a radio controlled plane with explosives on, to hit a crowd of people or an oil refinery or something, at any point in the last 50 years or more.
@AlgaeGaming6 ай бұрын
50 years ago you would've had to pilot the plane by vision, and thus be close in person. (And we were already stopping people from getting close to the most important places.) Drones can stream their camera footage fast and far now. I do agree with your overall point though, terrorism isn't common at all, and I'd rather see people tackle the issues politically that could cause terrorism. Only in special cases where you need to be absolutely sure of safety would you want to use this military approach.
@khornethebloodgod41555 ай бұрын
This is being used to great effect in Ukraine. Hundreds to thousands of casualties from quad copter drones carrying explosives. It’s a legitimate concern.

Just install an auto-dodge system on the drone. With the detection of that drone and detection of high speed approach.

Anvil is better at hitting humans "like a bowling ball thrown 200 mph". Drones can evade it. Humans can't.
