Cocktail (1988) - Red Eye

Ingredients:
3/4ths bottle of beer
Top with tomato juice
Hot sauce (Tabasco)
Black pepper
Two aspirin (don't use Tylenol/Panadol/acetaminophen because it will literally kill your liver)
Fresh raw egg
Personally I would add a shot of vodka too. Perfect for getting a good buzz going before your bar shift. These sorts of drinks are typically used as hangover cures although speaking from personal experience, their efficacy is questionable at best. Carbs, fat, protein, alcohol. Everything the body needs.

You are right about the first part. If you choose to go to college, don't ignore the professors. In real life, they typically have much knowledge to impart. Why would you choose to go to university and ignore the profs? The bigger message is follow your goals, but know the business you are getting into. Flanagan struggled in college because he wanted to make "make a million" easily and without doing the work. People looking to get rich quick are rarely the types to go to School.

Gods I love this movie, it’s got a sad ending for one of the characters without spoiling it, and a questionable choice by Tom Cruises character but the film is the definitive feel good 80s film I watch over and over again

Yes! Literally NOTHING Coughlan says about the bar business was still true but the late 90s. Once we reached the litigious "cover your ass" legally stage, bartenders and even bouncers had to totally change how we operated.

Pernod. It's a liqueur derived of star anise and has a licorice-y kinda of taste. It's VERY powerful which is why it fell out of favor a few decades ago. Too many untrained bartenders who have never worked with it, mostly because too few customers ever ordered it. It should be added using a dropper as it is so strong. Anything extra ruins the cocktail.
