Love this. I have visited Cure back in 2019 and was impressed. I also bought the book once I saw it was published. Great book and I have made a few of them myself

Black pepper is amazing. Try it together with strawberries in a cocktail. Pretty dawn good! 😉 Thanks for the tip on pepper syrup.

I was just about to ask if someone had tips on other flavour pairings for the pepper syrup! Crème de Fraise with black pepper syrup Daiquiri coming right up!

I visited NOLA a few years back. Only able to hit a few spots because I was only there 48hr. But Murierl's was my favorite. Fantastic food & cocktails 🍸

I know you hate this question, Leandro (and i totally get why), but since I have all the other ingredients on hand for the Ante Up except for the Amaro Sibila, what would you use as a substitute if you had to? I have Ciociaro, Lucano, Braulio, Averna, Ramazotti, Montenegro, Nonino... and maybe more I can't recall at the moment... Thanks in advance!

At the risk of going down the citrus rabbit hole, Persian lime, Citrus latifolia (the variety used in cocktails) is a hybrid cross of Key lime (C. aurantifolia), and lemon (C. limon). Key lime itself is a hybrid, a cross between kaffir lime (C. hystrix) and citron (C. medica). Meanwhile lemon is a hybrid of bitter orange (C. aurantium) and citron. And, bitter orange (aka Seville orange) is a hybrid of pomelo (C. maxima) and the mandarin orange (C. reticulata). See what I mean about citrus rabbit holes? Anyway, lime and lemon are different. Lime’s parentage includes kaffir aka makrut lime, while lemon does not. To confuse things further, some Western languages use a variation of “limon” to refer to limes, and a variation “citron” to refer to lemons, while English and Spanish use ”citron” and “cidron” as the name for C. medica, the fruit used to make candied citrus peel of the same name.
