“You speak well“, here’s the thing I learned in corporate America years ago, if you don’t say to white people, “you speak well“, don’t say it to black folk! Because the racist connotation is that you have subscribe to the belief that all black folk speak in broken English and Ebonics. African Americans who are very articulate do not need white folk to tell them what they already know.
