It's so cool looking at how plants have diversified as Gondwana broke up. It's interesting to look at how the plants in New Zealand, Tasmania, and southern South America are very closely related. Southern beach trees, southern sassifrass, podocarp species, and Winter bark relatives like the Tasmania pepper berry are all native to those areas, and give a good picture of what the flora of Antarctica during the eocene would have looked like.

Now if you were able to get a spot with Cucurbita Maximus you'd have a guiness book of world records shot right there. Pumpkin is the largest fruit, Jackfruit, largest tree fruit, Coco de mer, largest nut. The Atlantic Giant Pumpkin can weigh in at over 2,000 lbs which is absolutely insane. The heaviest pumpkin (and fruit in general) was a pumpkin clocking in at around 2,600 lbs.

Lodoicea is not a "glimpse at the ancestors of modern palm trees", it is an example of island runaway as you hint at before, and mention right after. The same way Deckenia is different in morphology to the rest of the Oncospermatinae, Lodoicea and Satranala are different from Borassus and Latania, which are closer in morphology to the fossil record fan palms of the area. The Borasseae are indeed monophyletic, but that ancestor did not look like Lodoicea does today.
