I don't get it: there's almost something miraculous about your ability to put these kits together so beautifully and neatly: no-one else seems to be able to do it quite as well as you. I certainly can't! I had seen other folk do a nice-but-rather-messy job of these kits on KZbin and thought "Oh, I could do a better job" - but it's a lot more difficult than I had realized, which is why I am in so in awe of your talent. I bought a miniature bookstore kit six months ago that I still haven't got around to building because it looks so complicated. Maybe if I watch more of these videos, I will finally get some courage!

I made the bookstore for my daughter. Though it was time consuming, it really wasn't hard. just lots of books, but most of them are wood w/book covers on them or they are book "boxes" made to look like lots of books sitting on the shelf. You will love it.

The hardest part is just getting to it when the task seems so daunting. Just taking it one step at a time helps to not feel so overwhelmed by the sheer amount that goes into making one of these. 😸

It’s definitely more time consuming than it is difficult! I got one for Christmas and I thought it was going to be really hard but it’s actually pretty easy and enjoyable!!

I wonder how long this actually took, I got 3 sets of something similar to this but half the size smaller and it took me over 3 hours because I had to wait for the glue to dry, cut out tiny pieces of paper and lost multiple things. But this person had to do all of that including recording and showing the camera what they made. The dedication is there

I wish these creators showed how they get the pieces to stay in place after gluing. that's the toughest part for me things never seem to dry in place they usually fall etc. I use the same glue too

The best I've come up with is to thinly spread tacky or wood glue (less liquid in the glue translates to less slippage) and then wait a minute to let the glue start bonding on the applied surface then place attach to the piece you need to glue to and then hold it in place for a few seconds before I let go. I have also started using transparent glue runner tape. With this method you have to be careful to get your placement correct. Practice made perfect. I used cardstock and die cuts as an inexpensive learning tool to perfect the technique. I started with simple shapes ie floorcand wall tiles and then slowly graduated to intricate shapes with tweezers.

So now that I have this kit and have begun the work, I had some issues. A couple of the wall boards were warped so would not go together well. I tried to wet them down and clamped them to straighten them, it only worked a little, The wall paper for the side of the window was cut incorrectly and the boards that go around the doorway were cut short, but I made them work. So far it has come together pretty well, but even though I am using the same glue you used here it doesn't stick as well as yours does. You make it look easy. I also have a problem with the instructions, they are a bit hard to understand, especially the wiring ones. I am not using the lights but rather am using some of the miniature lights on a wire string, that are already strung together and will work just right. this one is my hardest one so far, but will be worth the time. These are so fun.
