I’m embracing being a slower reader because I absorb the stories far more better. It’s the best.

I’m a slow reader too 🥲 my brain loves to imagine everything that happens in the story than reading 😅 I haven’t read ‘normal people’ yet but ‘talking at night’ sounds so intriguing. Sending love big sister! 💗

Love your videos Coco 💓you are the most relatable reader here on KZbin. My attention span is trash but I've always loved reading, I'm also autistic so my brain is trying to make me do 10 million things at once whenever I sit down to read 😂. I think it's also important to remember that it's okay to be a slow reader so we can actually remember the story and that for some booktubers that read 3 books a day, it's usually their only job, of course I'm not minimising them finishing that many books in a day it's just something I have to remind myself because being a slow reader and on the spectrum, I could easily take a month to finish a book🙃. I also tend to read multiple books at once which can help you read more books in a year if that's your goal. In conclusion, if reading is your hobby and something you do for fun, try not to focus too much on the speed you're finishing books and just be in the moment with it, everything is so go, go, go these days and it's nice to have a time you just stop and slow down for a while and get lost in a fictional world 🌈.

you’re so right! it’s meant to be fun :)) the only reason i wish i could read faster is because there are so many books i want to read in my life and i don’t think i’ll get round to all of them 😫

@@CocoDay That's so relatable, I'm always finding new books I want to read and that's the only reason why I wish I was a faster reader 😭

A wlw book I read recently and really enjoyed is 'Imogen, Obviosly' by Becky Albertalli. It is YA so it has more unserioes tone, but I really really loved it, and it also deals with some deeper topics surronding queerness and queer culture. Can really recommend it if you're looking for something cute, lighthearted, romancy and queer.

if you’re looking for historic romance I would say an island princess starts a scandal (takes place in Paris and the main characters are POC). Romance I would recommend count your luck stars and the fiancee farce. YA: she gets the girl and going bicoastal.

I‘m also such a slow reader. I read maybe like 30 pages in an hour when I read in English, my second language. When I’m reading in German I’m still reading super slow 😂 I guess like 40 pages per hour 🙈 so you’re not alone! But I also wish I could read faster. I mean, I can, but I don’t enjoy it as much as when I’m reading slower + it’s more exhausting for me 🙈

yeah it takes me more effort to read faster and i don’t get as lost in the story!

I admire that you read more modern fiction books, particularly romance books! Every time I try I just end up being annoyed with how unhealthy behaviour happens in every book! I just stick to historic fiction & mystery/crime novels as well as the old classics!
@CocoDay Жыл бұрын
honestly it frustrates me so much when it’s unbelievably unhealthy, like sometimes i can’t imagine it ever actually happening but most of the time it’s actually pretty common behaviour so it feels more real

I commented this on your last video, but i have to comment it again, you need to read I'll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson!!! I think you would love it!! It is about these two twins, who are both artists, and the book is separated into two timelines and both of their perspectives in that time. Deals with family, first love, art, grief and brother/sister relationships.
