Cocomelon’s main target is to shorten the attention span, which explains the addiction as well as tantrums. It’s scary n crazy because even as an adult, feeling overstimulating feels so intense and overwhelming, I can’t imagine how badly it defects a young brain!

I may be just a random high schooler but…Savantics made a video on this a while back. The summary of why it does this shit is a combination of the fast pacing of the shots, the overstimulation (such as the movement of objects and events) in said shots, the rhythm of the music, and the absurdly oversaturared and vibrant colors that draws children. Once they receive that much stimulation, it’s like a drug, they want more. It’s like going into a bar, getting a Sam Adams for your first time, and wanting more, and you throw a fit (metaphorically) because you didn’t get more. The kids take in the stimulation and it’s like a drug to them, and they don’t realize it, it’s like being sober for 6 months, you’re completely fine, but you see your buddy drinking a Sam Adams, and it’s right back to how it was before, because your brain remembers and now craves the stimulant. It is literally, I hate to say this but, “Baby’s First Bottle” or “Baby’s First Smoke”.

Savantics made a pretty solid analysis video on cocomelon and turns out it's overstimulating because of very quick camera shots. like the shots in cocomelon's baby shark are as fast as in a fight scene in Arcane. this causes children to be constantly overstimulated and when cocomelon is off, everything is too slow for them, hence throwing tantrums and turning into a zombie once it's back on i recommend watching their whole video tho, my comment is just a long-story-short of it

It is said that the reason the little kids would be transported into a trans like state when watching cocomelon, is because cocomelon apparently would have young kids watch an episode, and have people in the back doing stuff kids parents would do, and whenever the kid would look away, they would take that part of the episode, and change it, untill the kid would watch the episode without ever looking away.

i remember someone making a tik tok explaining why its so bad for kids. You mention the bright ass colours and that's a part of it. Higher saturation means more bright lights for children to try process. Another thing to note is the quick rate of how they go from one scene to another. They are constantly changing camera angle and at a much much higher rate than normal kid shows. The reason they act this way is because it is literally overwhelming kids brains with all the bright colours and noise so they have trouble processing it. It's not pre brain rot its the ORIGINAL brain rot. You can point at MLG or other forms of shitposting but annoying orange at least didn't change camera angles multiple times a second. And MLG wasn't meant for kids

Bro when I was those kid’s age, I was watching Shawn The Sheep, In The Night Garden, and Giggle And Hoot. Those were and still are master pieces😎

when I was in a restaurant I saw a random kid watching Cocomelon on a phone. I couldn’t stand that, so I immediately told the kid’s parent that Cocomelon is bad for kids, and advised them to watch My Little Pony instead. :]

When I was a drooling baby, all I did was play Minecraft and talked about stuff that doesn't matter, like cars can go Atleast 0mph, or the middle finger is the longest finger on the right and left hand. Crap like that. Oh yeah I went outside too.
