Oh, it’s a puzzle parking system! The platforms move like the tiles of a sliding puzzle to get cars from point A to point B. The technology that makes this thing work is super complicated, but I at least understand the basics of it. Here’s the whole process to the best of my knowledge: 1. You park the car and leave the loading room. 2. The main door closes. 3. The side door opens. 4. The floor panel that fills in the gap between the car platform and the elevator retracts into the floor. 5. The platform that now has your car on it slides to the left (over the now retracted floor panel) and into the elevator. 6. The elevator rises up slightly to allow the extra platform it carries below to slide out and take the place of the one your car is on. 7. The floor panel rises back up to its normal position. 8. The side door closes. 9. The elevator takes off, lifting your car up into the parking area. 10. The puzzle system springs into action, sliding other vehicles and empty platforms around to make space for yours. 11. Your vehicle slides off the elevator and into the parking area. 12. Simultaneously, the nearest empty platform makes its way over to the elevator to reload its extra platform slot (you can see the platform swap in action at 12:09; a better view is at 18:52). 13. Unless another vehicle is also being moved, the system now goes into standby. 14. When you recall your vehicle (or your time runs out; whichever happens first) the platform carrying it will begin to slide its way towards the exit elevator. 15. Once there, the platform will slide itself onto the elevator, which will then replace it with the empty platform in its storage slot. 16. The exit elevator takes off in reverse, bringing your vehicle back down to the ground level. 17. It stops slightly above the actual ground level. 18. The exit area’s side door opens. 19. The moving floor panel retracts as before. 20. This time, the empty platform takes its turn first, sliding into the storage slot on the elevator (this is why it stopped slightly higher). 21. The elevator moves down and levels out with the ground. 22. Your vehicle slides off the elevator and into the exit area. 23. The floor panel slides back up again. 24. The side door closes and the exit door opens simultaneously. 25. You’re free to go!
