It seems they got new gates and LPR cameras. As you noticed, past LPR cameras were suspended from the ceiling. The new ones are mounted on the ground and offset to the side. Gates have a different color scheme and uses a different articulation joint.

I love how every bay has a warning sign and instructions in case someone is still in the car!

Which is probably very unlikely to happen in the first place given that there is staff checking the car before sending it to the elevator.

how do you pay for the car to be sent to exit? do you get a parking ticket with a code specific to your car and pay at a station??

yes, they give you a ticket that you put in a machine to pay and get your car back.
