@@benwinkel - Google describes it better than I can 'Onomatopoeia (pronounced ˌ'AH-nuh-mah-tuh-PEE-uh') refers to words whose pronunciations imitate the sounds they describe. A dog's bark sounds like “woof,” so “woof” is an example of onomatopoeia.'

@@TAttiusMaximvs Thanks for explaining Max, i really didn't know. But how is that relevant to this song?
@TAttiusMaximvs3 жыл бұрын
@@benwinkel - As far as I know there is no 'official' explanation on why the word is used as a backing vocal (or not one that I have come across, anyway). Except that it is quite neat to use the word that defines a word that sounds like a sound, as the sound itself. I would imagine that the question must have ben asked many times over the years however! EDIT ... OK, I have just checked more specifically on Google and found this - Kid Creole And The Coconuts', "Annie, I'm Not Your Daddy" The Misheard Lyrics: o-no, o-no, onomatopoeia The Real Lyrics: I don't, I don't, I don't want to be your (x8) So what we need now is for Adriana, Taryn, Cheryl or (obviously) August, etc to notice this thread and give us the definitive answer on the matter :)
