When I first started soap making, I was told you couldn't make a "pretty" Coconut Lime soap as it went brown. I decided to test this for myself.

I absolutely love coconut but all the coconut cream fragrances have a high Vanillin amount, but a short time ago I saw someone make an amazing Coconut cream soap that wasn't dark brown, and to my delight its a Bramble berry fragrance. I love coconut lime and Lemongrass and Persian Lime, I also love grapefruit and coconut, I'm so happy to see you make this beautiful soap in the Coconut lime fragrance, its a beautiful soap

@@SoyandShea They do have it as I too am going to buy it, I got it as a sample some time ago and bought it from Aussie candle supply, the candle version has too much vanillin but exactly the same fragrance and it is one of my best selling melts and candles, everyone loves it, even those people who tell me they don't like coconut love it and buy it, it discolours to Ivory as I watched it being made without any colours other than a little TD and soaped like a dream.

Awesome soap! Glad you brought up the oil pockets. I recently had that happen in my sweet pumpkin spice soap. Almost 2 weeks into cure...small pockets reabsorbed, larger ones still oily. @soyanshea Oh Keeley, you have done it again. I love the fine whispy shades the mica drop crates. I have never thought to do something like that, but will have to give it a go. You are so generous in showing everyone your creations and 'how to' videos, you are a credit. And I wholeheartedly agree with you on what you get told in the soap forums. You can get totally demolished by some comments. I say, do what works for you in your environment as what works for one person, may not work for someone else in the environment. The one I most dislike, is 'soap at room temperature'. Ha, I am in Canberra, so that would be at 16 degrees and most of my hard oils would be solid! Hope you have a great weekend and keep up the great work. :)
@SoyandShea

Thank you 🍈🥥 Yes the soaping at room temperature is a tricky one. I've learned a room temp of 23-28° works for me.

Keeley, you are so right. Testing your own is so important. Just because something works for one doesn't mean it will work for all. That includes everything from candles to facial scrubs, lotions, whatever! I learned a few hard lessons. Especially with candles. No two batches are ever exactly the same. I made a batch of candles before Christmas last year, everyone adored them the fragrance hot and cold throw were awesome. I had a customer request more in July. I said ok. I take very precise notes, so no problem. I made them excellent cold throw, NOTHING in the way of hot throw. I do mean nothing. I don't even know what went wrong. Just did a small batch a week ago and they are perfect again. What???? So confused, but it must have something to do with climate! My best guess any way, lol! Beautiful soap and thank you for sharing! ~ Jill Gross

Complains that everyone says coconut lime fragrance goes brown... Proceeds to add brown tone mica (bronze) to the top of said soap... Said soap is an olivish green with brown added to it (top bits where it's bit blended)... .... .... .... Surely I'm not the only one that caught the irony.
@SoyandShea
@SoyandShea 4 жыл бұрын
The aim is not to have an entirely brown soap or one that discolours. The green represents the lime, white for coconut flesh and the brown and bronze represents the husk. I don't see any irony in it only colour matching and a nice green soap.
