This feels like the perfect "4th wall-breaking horror" movie. It starts off normally, with someone waking up on an average Tuesday. They do their usual morning routine: get ready, walk to the coffee shop, go to work, etc. They repeat this everyday, but as you watch the movie, you realize this person is in a simulation. Same Tuesday, same interactions, same routine. Around 1\4 into the movie, when the main character is doing their routine, they suddenly stop, as if something was keeping them from moving. They look around, and have the realiation that they're in a simulation. Now, when the day starts over again, they do different actions, trying to find a way out. Until one day, when they do some unknown action, the simulation stops. They wake up the next day and it's Wednesday. People remember what they did the day before. And when they wake up the next day, it's Thursday. And so on. However, only they remember the thousands of Tuesdays from the simulation. While they're going about their day one day, someone says something. The main character can't tell what they said. Classic interation. However, when the main character asks the other character what they said, the other character says one of 2 things: "Just look at the subtitles" or "Just turn on the subtitles". Then, both characters make eye contact with the screen. The main character says, "I know you're watching us". Then, as soon as it happened, they look away from the screen and go about their day. The next day after that, you now control the main character, Netflix-Interactive style. However, the more you go about their day, the more things seem to flip, but not in your favor. You wind up taking them to an insane asylum (no matter what decisions you make) but keep making their decisions while there. You end up getting them excecuted, but when the character killing them says "Any last words?" the main character makes eye contact once again with the screen and says, "You did this to me." And then the credits roll.
